SP Map Flood Assault Released!

Title says all, now just some info..

The map is Mostly made for testing out stuff, i've put all kind of stuff in there wich i created/added...

Including:
-Elite Honor Guards (Beachmaster for Tags, me for editing his behavior)
-Grunt Ultra's (100% me!)
-Elite Ultra (100% me!)
-Making AI use Grenades (Fairly easy, but remember, its my test map.)
-Flood Containing! They will come out in a pretty original way, you will notice once you play the map :D

A few more suprises, but you will notice those :D

Also made a Scarab gun on the map, without using deathless player fairly hard, and if you dont aprouch carefull you will be shot right into the air lol.

Have fun, and please discribe me some detailed tips :D

I can't exactly say that it isn't special. The flood carrier sure is memorable. However, the Covenant AI don't move, and its just another blood gulch mod with the marines running command lists. The cliffs and the caves aren't used. Overall, its just another AI Blood Gulch mod with some new bipeds. No firing positions, no driving AI, nothing very special. However, it is a good attempt at creating an AI mod. I'd rate this probably at a 7, putting aside all prejudice against Blood Gulch.

The AI DOES MOVE. I've set the command they all remain inside untill alerted.. then they all run out and kill stuff.

Remember its just a BETA, im going to fill up caves and stuff, and even make the infection forms actually infect.

Also, there are firing positions... yet i just made this map for testing, so it isnt anything with any thought to be honest xD

How are you going to make the infection forms infect? It requires heavy scripting that doesn't work well in an MP environment.

That does NOT work in a MP enviroment. Also, good luck getting the script exactly right, took us ages to get it perfect............

Heres why: AI do NOT sync over the net. Each player on the server has his own AI created, and therefore causes massive server lag, and individual ai units out of place along with the server trying to keep track of AI and therefore placing bipeds attempting to fill the gap.

I've got my ideas:

The Carrier form pops out infection forms when it dies, but you can also make them pop out other carriers, like i did in this map lol.

Im making if a marine dies, a combat form replaced it.

only issues for that is:
-Body will still be on ground.
-If another combat form kills the marine, the marine still pops into a combat form.


However, if you only make the war 1 sided, so flood vs marines, it wouldn't be so bad, i mean, having infection forms attack, and after attack having an army of combat guys :P


Still working on it though.

Hey, what? Anyway, since the script requires that a biped die in the exact trigger volume, and since you need small trigger volumes for controlled infection, you would need to spend a lot of time. Even with that, the script doesn't exactly work perfectly. What it should do is teleport a flood elite biped to the location of the dead elite, and then delete the dead elite. However, Lone Warrior tested it out, and apparently it doesn't work as we hoped. Also, if you planned to play this over a server with friends, the AI netcode is not carried over the connection, so an infected elite on one computer would not appear on the other computer.

Also, for your idea, you would have to attach bipeds to an encounter. If you want the bipeds to respawn, then you would have to create extra scripts. Unless you are planning on doing heavy scripting, your idea will not work.

True, it will never work perfectly for mp unless someone makes ai sync, and then and only then, it will.

It works.

You just have to Edit the Biped, go to camera tracks, then go to the spot where you change wich actor he drops on dead, then how many, ETC.

Im soon testing it out, first recieving a blank B30 map from a friend :P

No, you do not,.

First of all, caera tracks have nothing to do with infection. Biped changes is the cheap Flood infection way. How do you differetiate between infection forms killing the ai, and normal death?

how to differetiate? NOT.

Is it a infection? NO, its just a very crappy way of making it look like it does.

thats wy i make the theme as following, Marines and Covenant allied, or there is just 1 of the 2, only infection forms attack, no other type of enemy attack. so if they die, THEY HAVE TO DIE BECAUSE OF FLOOD. the only problem there is, that if a already infected marine kills another marine, that it becomes flood aswell.

Yet as the idea is the same: flood kills, flood expands, flood kills more, flood expands more.

and i dont recommend ally killing, they might mutate and take revenge o.O


Just made Drop pods BTW, flood spawning in air dropping honor guards lol.

Also, according to Lone Warrior, the combat form created by the dead marine would be on the same team as the marine. Then he won't take revenge :O Instead, he'll kill flood.

Oh damnit, you are right.

I knew it had alot of holes... but now the team thingy...
