Hello,
Just a Topic for here...
Is there a way the Flood could actually infect? that if a infection form jumps on a marine/elite/whatever it turns into a combat form?
Theres alot edited, and i thought, could this be done?

No its not possible due to engine capabilities. But with scripting, you might be able to achieve a similar effect.

I do believe I just said, I did........
E1: *looks at Bo's post* Yes, engine restrictions do apply, but possible with heavy scripting. Edited by Lone Warrior on Feb 19, 2009 at 05:31 PM

Edited by Lone Warrior on Feb 19, 2009 at 05:31 PM You would have to have your script make an entire biped form into a another biped with a single animation. To be honest I don't think this is impossible.

Ugh, long story short, death animation.
Now most of you will think, well thats not gonna work, it will, because it will only infect in a controlled enviroment, not just random infections in the bsp. Edited by Lone Warrior on Feb 19, 2009 at 05:38 PM

Ye, I noticed that. Changed the idea however.
Basically, a seperate biped, the same, except with a different death animation. Like I said, its not anywhere near perfect.
Right: Make an alternate version of a biped that has a different death animation, said death animation has Flood bits covering the original body.
Ugh, how many times am I gonna re-do this post. About the Multiple Permutations, why wont it work, have multiple perms for a biped. Bind a biped to an encounter, then when the biped is in the trigger volume change the permutation, which would give it a different Death anim. Or will the death anim stay the same? Only way it would work is to have a flood based on whatever died, spawn in the area.

You didn't explain the multiple permutations part.
And why wont the other idea work?
Have it 'controlled' A biped is hit by a infection form, the death anim plays, and have a Flood spawn where the original biped died.

It will use Trigs. I can imagine this being as isolated as the dualing script. The infections can only occur where the bipeds are under the assigned trigger volumes. That's my guess though. Edited by DarkHalo003 on Feb 19, 2009 at 06:03 PM
