Awesome. Yet my crappy computer with 1.83 Dual core ghz processor and a less than modern 8600 Graphics card can already run Sapien, and everything else. And I am currently running Windows 7.

A custom build can't have more than 3gb of ram =/ Also as far as I know, only Vista can use 4gb of ram. Also I didn' t say you had vista. Quote: unless You have the 32 (or 64, not sure) bit version of vista =/ L2R

only bad thing is i forgopt to get a sound card LOL Edited by commanderfarvel on Jan 30, 2009 at 08:32 PM If you have 10 GB, it will only display as 3.5 GB on your PC... Vista Ultimate 32-Bit supports up to 8 GB... All 32-bit systems though, aside from Vista Ultimate [that are fully released, anyway] cannot support more than 3.5... Now, if you have a 64-bit system you can support anywhere between 8 GB and 256 TB of memory. But if you have a 64-bit system, you'll need a 64-bit processor. And since you said you have windows 2000, which is a Server/Commercial version and not a home version, there is a /slim/ chance you have the 64-bit (which, Windows 2000 was the first to have a 64-bit, fun fact). But most likely, you're just trolling, since you didn't even name off the specs besides saying you have the "most recent gfx card" and such... Didn't even say what processor you have. Also, 10 GB is a very patchy number. You're supposed to put an even amount of memory sticks in your PC, and there are no "2.5 GB" sticks... There are 128's, 256's, 512's, 1024's, and 2048's... And lower of course. There may be 4096 sticks too, but I'm not sure... Nonetheless, you would either have 8 or 12... You could do 10, but that would mean you have 2 4 GB and 2 1 GB's... Or some even /worse/ combination. Also, by the way. 40 GB hard drive? I have 120 and they're all full. Have fun with your limited space. *Rips all his DVD's, CD's, and such to his computer. Also plays an epic amount of games. ... Also, has a lot of programs. ... And never clears his history/internet files. Hence why 120 GB are full.*

But if you have 6 different games (games such as UT2004 average a requirement of 6 GB; WoW requires 8 GB), several programs like Photoshop, 3DS Max, Sony Vegas, FL Studio, etcetera, as well as rip all of your music and DVD's onto your PC? A 40 GB isn't enough... A 250 GB might work.

Depending on how much you want to pay. For normal home computers such as Dell and Compaq, there is a max of 4 GB, for gaming computers, there is a max of 8GB, if you want the absolute best then you want to go as high as you can get. Which you have to be super rich :\

:P Yeah, I don't even think that Ram has that amount of memory in a stick to reach 24GB, brb googling. E: 12GB(6x 2gb) is the max I have seen, I dont think the crucial 4gb stick works on the new X58 boards Edited by SargentCrunch on Jan 31, 2009 at 12:52 PM The only thing that would really matter is how many slots you have. I am pretty much building my motherboard from scratch, but it will take me at least another year to complete it

Seems fun but I just don't think it would be as customizable as I would like. My dad pretty much builds motherboards for a living, so he is helping me, so far, I have bought an i7 Quad Core processor, a NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GX2, 2 Terabytes of Hard Drive Space, 4 Slots for 2GB RAM Chips, and much more to come. I am expecting a new cooling system soon

The x58 holds up to 12GB of RAM. And 8gb is possible on most other gaming boards. Please search more before you post. E: Msi released a new board that can up to 24GB of Ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130216REdited by SargentCrunch on Jan 31, 2009 at 12:37 PM You do your research. Motherboards can take up to 16 gigs now. That doesn't matter. Of course a motherboard could handle it, no problem it's the OPERATING SYSTEM that limits it. Unless you have a 64-Bit operating system, the memory will never actually exceed 3.5 in use at once, except for Vista Ultimate. The kernel will not support it.

I know how much my new motherboard and OS RAM capabilities are, which us why I'm using about 8GB Ram for Windows XP 32 Bit. Besides RAM, you can increase your ram by making a partition on your Hard Drive and making it act as another RAM chip, but you just have to know how, which I don't, my dad does.

How do you increase ram when it is ram? Its like saying: If you cut the apple in half, you will get more apple. What? :o Sorry, I didn't word that right, lol. To increase RAM, you can make a partition on your Hard Drive and make it act as another RAM chip, which I don't know how to do.

I think what he's trying to say is that he's taking a chunk from the Hard Drive (not affiliated with RAM), and converting that to RAM. I'm not sure if it's possible, but
