Hey guys, I just want to know if Halo and Halo CE will work with Windows 7. There have been reports of Steam Games not working on Windows 7, so I was just wondering...

I remember hearing from somewhere, someone said their friend was getting really low FPS in Halo with Windows 7 when on Windows XP/Vista they had a good frame rate.

That is going to happen because Windows 7 is a light build. There aren't any "Real" configurations for graphics on Windows 7 "yet". Not only that, but since its the Beta, there are no Driver updates for it.

vista... eats halo's FPS, like most of the games,
windows 7 however, i'm getting the same fps hits as in xp, i'm very happy with it

too bad it's gonna expire 30 september 2009 or so, we'll have to use a timer freeze crack like how we did vista lol, i'll look into that later, but for now halo ce runs like grunts stuck with 4 plasma nades

as i said before, if you set your vista up with the right hardware and turn off all of the extra stuff, vista is not that bad. i usually run at around 630 mb ram usage, and can get it down to the upper 500's if i turn off some programs in the background.

I was using 1GB of RAM and no probs except the crappy security. Windows 7 does have a little problem though, when I am in Halo Developers Mode, I crash after I type "bottomless_clip 1" on the campaign maps.

Ah you have the unofficial beta...
Well personally I thought it would not work because it was made for Vista Only. I guess Window's Seven is more similar to Vista than I thought.

Ahh, I know what happened, there were too many bots in the map I was playing so my CPU and my RAM was going wack, it was just coincidence.

Other then that, H2V works good on my PC, except for the GFX Card :|

I *think* (not completely sure) but the older builds of Windows 7 (before 6956 or so) are based on Vista, and you could use Vista beta keys to activate, but after 6956, the structure is completely changed over to Windows 7, so I'm suspecting that H2V won't work on the public beta, but you never know...

You don't need a Vista beta key. They automatically give you Windows 7 beta keys. I happened to get five of them by refreshing the page a lot.

One question. I'm currently running it through a virtual machine. Would it be stable enough to completely upgrade my current computer to Windows 7? I know that no beta will ever be stable enough to take over, but is Windows 7 capable of being run full time?

I tried. Doesn't work well on an external hard drive. Can't partition it. My current hard drive has 200 mb free. Unless you know how to partition an USB hard drive?

live is such a stupid invention, like steam, if it doesnt work all your money is wasted, atleast i can play halo 2 and shadowrun on windows xp without live, havn't tried the Live system on windows 7 yet, gotta install halo 2 on that first

and if halo 3 will come to pc, they for sure will add vista and 7 to their supporting list, windows 7 won't come out of the beta this year anyways

what happened to emulators? i have emulators for literally all systems, except xbox 360 and the wii, the ps3 emulator is laggy as hell, aswell as the regular xbox emulator, would be great if we could rip it with dxripper through an emulator hah

Great bump... And the beta's been extended. There are more keys now. I have five different, and I've compared with other people.
