EDIT: Oh and my other question is that how do I compile maps in Tool?
Thanks. Edited by Tuaha on Jan 9, 2009 at 01:54 PM

Download HEK+ at http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=2289 (that's the most recent version) and use it to rip the .scenario file from the map. Once you have the .scenario in your tags folder, open it up in Sapien and add the AI. Good luck!

No, he's doing something very common. Your clicking on tool.exe. you need to got to windows/system32 and copy cmd.exe. Place this in the Halo CE folder. Now click on it. You should get a prompt with a black background.

Note: If at any time, while adding tags, it gives you the message: Quote: --- Original message by: Bungie Not all tags could be added to the palette. Please contact your nearest Bungie programmer for assistance.
Or something like that, then you will know something is wrong. Open up the debug.txt file found in the same folder as Sapien, and scroll to the bottom, and find all the file_open errors, and re-extract those tags, from other maps, such as a10.

Contact your nearest Bungie programmer for assistance. This is what's stopping me from doing work. Gamma, how can I fix the errors in the debug.txt file? Most of my maps I downloaded are protected, so I can't rip any tags. Edited by Tuaha on Jan 11, 2009 at 08:11 AMEdited by Tuaha on Jan 11, 2009 at 08:11 AM

There should only be one version of the cmd.exe file in the path. This is because if there is an update to the command file then you will not have different versions on your PC. You are better off making a shortcut to open a command prompt window in the folder you wish. Quote: --- Original message by: K_I_D People like you piss me off. HELP. I downloaded a tutorial on how to setup tool, and I did it correctly and Tool did the same thing as before and Tool ++ always gives me errors. I even tried to run it on admin and it just crashed a second later.
Okay this time I followed an easier tutorial, but when I tried to compile bitmaps it just types my HCE root folder again. Edited by Tuaha on Jan 14, 2009 at 05:41 AM Edited by Tuaha on Jan 14, 2009 at 05:41 AM Edited by Tuaha on Jan 14, 2009 at 05:44 AM

Tool++ does not work for bitmaps. The only thing I use it for is for building cache files. Everything else, I do it by hand.

Gah. Open up Sapien devmode, by pressing the tile button. Type in the following:
radiosity_quality 0
Then,
radiosity_start
Three numbers should start counting down on the top left of the screen. When they reach exactly zero and no more, type in:
radiosity_save
Dnun dun dun! Your map will be revealed in lightning.
p.s: Tuaha, you totally pwned me on that Halo match. I blame it on lag....
