My friend, ate too many red lollies and decided to stuff 1000 elite zealots with energy swords in this map the size of a bloodgulch base. It does not lag one single bit. Map isn't portalled or anything.
Anyway, the more amazing thing is, the map compiles at 17.3mb. How is this possible?
Ok scratch that. 10,000 AIs. Is there a limit? Where it just won't spawn anymore? It's still 17mb :|

Looks like the basic shape. I didn't even think of making a map similar to it. TBH I have only played that map maybe 4 times on COD 4.

wow.. 10000 zealots and no lag? 5 of my super needler grunts and exeption you out in 2 min being attacked by them. (200 needles a second, but its not like 500 swords a second.)

The compiled map size is dependant on the various unique tag sizes and mostly on the bitmaps and/or tetures. An elite biped tag has a fixed size consisting of the model, bitmaps and/or textures. When the game runs it just references the tag attributes as many times as the game needs. So one tag can be referenced 1 or a 100 times but the tag size remains the same so the map's compiled size is fixed and small. What does happen is that when the game "spawns" a biped even though there is only one reference tag the game will use more memory to make each instance of the biped. The multiple instances and increaded memory requirements is what can cause lag in maps that have alot of AI running.

You could probably spawn up to 15-20 at a time with no lag on most computers, and then just have infinite respawn so that each time one dies, another one spawns. If it was only frames per second then it may not be what you mean. It is a simple performance problem. Send the map to me and Ill see how my FPS is. Also what are your computer's specs?
