so awhile back i was playing in an AI map i had created and i noticed that there were no muzzle flashes on my guns, and no decals when they hit the ground, i thought it was just the AI taking up to much of my processing power, but now for the past couple of days, there are no muzzle flashes on any weapons, no explosions for grenades and stuff, no decals, no particle effects, and no smoke
WTF? why is this happening? and how can i fix it? |

nah, i havent touched my video settings since i installed custom edition and that was only to turn off anti-aliasing

I think he meant to tell you that you should check your video settings.

k, but what section would i have to look in? sorry i dont really mess with my video settings cuz i killed them last time and i dont want to mess it up again

The section called "Video". Then, check whether decals and particles are on.

okay there is no "video" there is only:
3D settings: -adjust image settings with preview (changes the quality of the display, its on high right now) -manage 3D settings changes certain settings for the games installed on my computer (i looked on the list of game installed and saw halo, and there was no settings for particels, or decals) -monitor temp levels Display -run display optimization wizard -change resolution -change flat panel scaling -adjust desktop color settings -rotate display -manage custom resolutions -set up miltiple displays Video and Television -adjust video color settings how can i fix my problem? EDIT: got decals back on, but there are still no contrails or particles, or explosions :\ btw decals was in the halo video settings right under my nose lol Edited by UnevenElefant5 on Dec 28, 2008 at 11:39 PM EDIT2: got my particles back on, they were in the same place as the decals lol... except im sure i never touched those settings EVER... i dunno why that happened, oh well, thanks for your help gamma Edited by UnevenElefant5 on Dec 28, 2008 at 11:41 PM |
