Okay so I made I biped that's all one region and it has a damaged perm. I've made its collision, but my problem is that after it takes so much damage it dies instead of switching perms. I want it to switch perms half way through its life. Any ideas?

open the collision model, go to body damaged threshold. set a number of how much remaining life you want when your damaged permutation appers. (not a percent, an acual number.. look at how much life it origenaly has, and use that to decide how much remaining you want to change)

Now i have a new problem, my biped just won't die. It will die by assassinations but nothing else. Do i need to check any of the flags off or something?

go to collision model and edit the:

maximum body vitality.

for shield, edit the:

maximum shield vitality

shield matrial type

shield depleted effect

I had all that filled in, but it just doesn't die. I can't figure out why.

How much HP and shield does your biped have? also, can you tell us what was in the Flags part?

For testing it only has 50 HP and 10 shield. Right now i have the first two flags checked which are, takes shield damage for children & takes body damage for children.

Those 2 flags should only be checked off if the model has a piece of geometry that takes the beatings. For bipeds, those should be left blank

that acualy depends on weather you would like to use weapons as shields. Weapons are considered Children.

Anyways, the biggest thing is to make sure sheild material isnt set to dirt, and the sheild has idle time before it recharges (so it isnt always automaticly refull)

It also matters if you want to be able to shoot flood infection forms off of an ally or something like that. If you notice, in Halo, you can't shoot it off a Marine to save him. The Marine biped has those two flags checked off, so you can't shoot the infection form off - doing so will result in you killing said Marine.

I figured out what was wrong. I set my body damaged threshold but nothing happens, it just dies. I tried setting the region's damaged threshold but still nothing happens.

look at it next to a flood combat's collision in guerilla and base it on that.
