I swear I've read somewhere that when a biped dies, the body becomes a garbage tag. Could someone confirm this? Because if it is true...since when did garbage tags get physics?

Garbage has always had physics. But when a player died it is still a biped. It is just doing its dead animations and etc. Garbage is for minor stuff. Like a part of a flood that has been blown off. Its physics is less prioritized.

and unsurprisingly, dee doesn't know what he's talking about. There are 2 types of garbage in the game. Garbage tags are for flood bits, but there also used in explosions when they need debris. The game has a way of deleting them, but I'm unsure by what means.

The other type of garbage, which your talking about, is when a unit dies. The game considers units in this state as uneeded garbage, and it will delete them to optimize performance. On the tsc video I posted you'll notice all the bodies and wraiths are gone from the beach.

It doesnt affect gameplay, unless you count a flying body after an explosion obstructing your view

I don't think dead bodies sync in any of the Halo games, I see people shooting the ground in halo 3, when they say they are shooting a dead body.

I'd rather go without than take what you'd bring.

I would think they would considering how Halo 3 is supposed to get info on EVERYTHING but I guess it doesn't.

There's no reason for dead bodies to sync. That's why they don't.

That is basically much what I said. They are less prioritized for game performance, the death of a biped, the kind of garbage. You basically re-worded what I said as an attempt to null what I had said.

No, you were explaining that they were the same thing. Garbage and dead players are not the same thing, and neither has actual physics for that matter. The game has a different way of deleting garbage tags than it does garbage units.

The only thing you were even right on, is that its used for things like parts of a flood going off. Your extensive intellect astounds me. Next time actually know what you're talking about before posting, or clairify if you "think" thats how something works.

thers no reason for them to sync cause really if everything went as it should (since everything else syncs like explosions) the body will do the same thing on everyones comp. Now I know this is a BAD explanation... but it makes sense if you think about it. However I know it doesn't always work that way but usually unless lag or some unknown force happens it just happens to "sync" not a big deal but still. In halo 3 people shooting dead bodies that you don't see is just lag, usually it would sync because dead bodies WILL kill you... i've really been killed by one several times I just don't have any vids that it's happened to me or do I know how to do it exactly... but get a dead body going fast enough it WILL kill you.

No masters I don't care if i'm wrong, I know I probably am but big deal... were talking about garbage tags! it's garbage it's not a big deal.

I have no clue why you would acuse me of acusing you of being wrong, but since you brought it up, I'm pretty sure dead bodies in all the halo games clip through players. Otherwise when you melee something that falls foward you woould be pushed backword.

So there is a garbage unit and a garbage tag?

Is there anyway to change the garbage unit? Or create a new one?
