I know a fair good amount of C++. Kornman didnt include a direct X header file in the project so we need to wait for him to get back on.

we wait , as for this thread , just because its about Open Sauce means its deserves to be a head of all the others , because its that damn important to development.

None of you seem to understand what open sauce even is. this isn't some magical application that lets you do anything you want. KM00 has just created a way to edit and create tags and other assets of the game, but you must know how to code in C++ to edit parts of the engine/hek. It's more than just the source code but its only for DEVELOPERS.

So, at one point could this enable us to create our own recorded animations?
I learned some C++ / C so I'll try and look at what I can do with this.

:( I don't get to learn C++ (except by teh damn book >:V) until next school year. No, I'm stuck with Java. It's supposed to be based off of C, also, so maybe I might be able to look at stuff... and stuff. And I also have C++ for Dummies, so I might be able to look at a few more things... and things... but probably not enough to make good use of this any time soon.

problem that has already been adressed is that its not a friendly choice for people who have no idea how to code , maybe someone should work on something that would help instead of having to learn C++? like the other ver of tool that had options that you just click and it does the stuff ,idk just throwing the idea out there for anyone to grab.

This makes my head hurt. But now, say someone edited the source or whatever, say they made it so you could board vehicles, how would they release that to everyone else if they want to play a map where you could board vehicles?
I have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about.

For the majority of you, this is way over your head. Even if you know a little C++, you still need to know assembly in order to disassemble the haloce.exe and find the code you'd like to change. Those of you that don't know what it is probably shouldn't be messing with it, this release is for dev's, but later on a release of yelo using open sauce will be released according to korn. Quoted from modacity: Quote: NOTE: If you're not a programmer, then "Open Sauce" may not tickle your fancy as much. Not to worry, an official Yelo release using Open Sauce will be made further down the road.

By multi-vehicles does it mean that if I were to download this and compile it, then put the .dll into the HALO CE folder the 6 vehicle type limit would disapear? Also is this the code for the entire game engine or what does it consist of? Edited by Rhydgaled Publications on Nov 17, 2008 at 10:03 AM
