if you plan out all of your models mathematically first, you wouldn't have to do that.

45 is easy. I'm sure that there is a way to measure angles. I just don't know how. One way is to use angle snaps and construct your geometry by extruding rotating things.
If you find a way to measure angles, tell us please!

Yes there is go to your helpers menu, and use the protractor tool. It's pretty self explanatory, but just align the protractor object to on of the objects and then select both object in protractor parameters. Hope that helped.

Im sure you can do what u want there with just the slice plane tool and angle snaps.
