I'm pretty sure it was canceled. It looked like it was gonna be pretty awful anyways. The weapon designs were cool, but the gameplay and everything was completely un-halo.

i believe they were shut down. i mean, they were definitely halted, because all of the concepts for stuff were posted on their site, but i just dont know exactly how they were stopped

its stopped because the people making it (ES i think) who are making Halo Wars, Are getting shot ni the face by microsoft asoon as Wars is finished

Ensemble Studios decided that it sucked, so they went ahead and started Halo Wars. Also, they're quitting because they are done with creating games. NOT because Microsoft wants them gone. STOP BLAMING MICROSOFT!

Yes, Microsoft shut them down, but Ensemble probably made an agreement with them awhile ago about it. Ensemble is one of MS's cash cows, you think they're just going to up and kill it?

It is a shame really. Ensemble did alot for Microsoft, AoE, AoM. And now Halo Wars. And Microsoft are just ditching them. I hope ES comes back but with a diffrent producer or something and makes the MMO.
