My Team and I making a game based on the novel, Halo: Ghosts of Onyx. Helipad Studios, our Team, needs help making the game, we need: 3D Modelers, Animators, Concepts Artists, Map Designers, Weapon Modelers, Vehicle Modelers, Character Modelers, Structure Modelers, and a Search Crew. All of those have to do with modeling objects, characters, or vehicles, except the Search Crew and Animator. The Animator animates stuff for cut scenes and trailers that get released to the public, or in game. (Maya, 3DS max, and Blender are used) The Search Crew searches the web to find information for the rest of the Team, EXAMPLE:(this is what we would ask you) "Find the programming language Halo Custom Edition Maps are written in." Almost anybody can be part of the Search Crew, and the Search Crew is mainly used if there is information needed that cannot be found very easily. The Modeler does 3D Modeling using the provided 3D rendering software below: - 3DS Max - ZModeler v2.0.0 - Gmax (Practice Purposes) - Blender Other Software we use: (not all, but some) - Photoshop - Paint - Sketchup - HEK (Halo Editing Kit) Our Team is in need of the following VERY soon:- Character Designer (Can 3D Model a Character on computer) - Animator (Can Animate Characters, Vehicles, etc. on Computer) - Finalizer (I made this word up, but it means: Can make UI scripts, making a character or vehicle do something in game, or making a button pushed by a character do something; UI = User Interface; the UI Scripter also needs to know how to make objectives for a player to complete.) For everyone's information, there are going to be NO legal issues due to the development of this game, in fact, we are in the progress of getting the information needed to get the RIGHTS to make this game, and maybe have it put on Xbox Consol(s)/Published. SO for this fact, please REFRAIN from making any comments towards rights OR a lawsuit. Thank You.
(There are more positions to be stated if asked.) With every Team, there is bound to be qualifications to enter, so you need to meet these qualifications to become a part of Helipad Studios. (The * are the qualifications being a Search Crew): 1. * Must be 13 years or older. 2. * Be on XFire often. 3. Need experience using at least one of software listed on this entire post. 4. Must have Windows XP, 2000, or (I hate Vista) Vista. 5. Must know/speak English. You can reach me by: Xfire, Email Xfire Username: KillerKip1 Email Address: Cytex321@Yahoo.com Here is some of "my" personal work early on in the project, this was my first day using Mesh, so this is an old picture. So, you pretty much just have an idea for GoO, but you don't know how to do it, but you want everyone to do it for you.

I'm with disaster, I wanna see what your team can do already. Sounds like you need people for every job, and you don't know how to do any of it yourself.

I gather that you are volunteering to join his new team. You must be because there no other reason to post unless you are going to help him with the work. If you are not going to help him with the work then posting in this thread would be violating an edict set forth in the stickies of not harassing or abusing people who make requests. I wouldn’t want to think people would be so inconsiderate as to violate that edict so I will assume you are going to help his team and produce some wonderful work. I am sure you get my meaning.

http://forum.halomaps.org/index.cfm%3Fpage=topic&topicID=17242 this should shed some light on the situation. the only other post this guy has ever made. obviously he wants to accomplish this dream. i cant blame him. hell if he could get a stable engine i might consider joining this project. i dont see it happening though, so i have no faith in it

We are counting on making the grahpics (if you want to use that term), better than Halo 2 for Halo: Ghosts of Onyx, and personally, I am aiming higher.
And I hope you will like the outcome of our game, and I too would like to play as a Spartan III.

If this turns out to work, i'll join in. And I think Masters would lend you the old spartan 3 model they never finished if this actually turns out well.

I'm part of the team if that means anything to anyone. I don't know whether all of our goals can be accomplished, but as I said in my past topic, I'd like to make a map (or series of maps) based off of a Halo novel. That's my motivation. If you don't have a reason to join, good for you, but I doubt our progress will be helped by negative words. I will admit I haven't read this topic in it's entirety, but the general sense seems to be putting down the idea. If my previous statement is wrong, then thank you to those who are helping us in the right direction.

so using the HEK which is for the Blam Engine, and using that to make your own game and engine? since HEK is Microsofts, anything that goes through, comes out Microsofts. And there is also the Copyright for the Halo(R) Series. You would be better off making a 2D side scrolling game

If you use a different engine, I'd be happy to help. I don't have a lot of time, so I can't find any of my work, but to give you an idea of my skill, I'm on CMT and H3MT. I can model characters, weapons, some bsp, scenery, etc.
I'd like to see some more work of yours though, to get an idea of your skill.
EDIT: Also, I can make concept art and model vehicles. :) Edited by ChocolateNugget on Sep 29, 2008 at 09:01 PM

(As they say) There is NO " HEK" involved in their post. Also, they can make the game, but not sell it. They would need Microsofts EULA Agreement for the Game and some Copyright Signing to do. Other then that, that's all they really need. Quote:
Other Software we use: (not all, but some)

also i said, they are using the HEK which is FOR the blam engine

Now, may I ask the team. Is this a "Game" or a "Mod"? I second this. This is starting to seem like a troll is trolling...

Sure, in a world where some people get paid more than others, no family will ever be wealthy enough to buy such programs. Nice logic.

I'm pretty sure I can get it through my school, but I may have to be in like 4th year drafting class or something, which is impossible for me now. anyways this is OT.
If I saw this going somewhere i would be glad to help. I don't believe this team would be capable of creating an independant game, but if so I would recommend using the unreal engine, 3 preferably.
A custom campaign on the blam engine would be pretty cool too though.

I was an a team called "Lazybone Games." The name sounds professional but it doesn't mean its an independent game company or something, we just made regular maps for halo CE.
