Hey im woking on a new map and i need to make an elevator. Can anyone tell me how?

that's a good first step, but you want to make a device_machine. you'll probably need a script too. just take the elevator from b40 as an example and make you own model/animation graph.
a lot of it's easy to figure out but feel free to post problems.

i have a feeling he knew that. though it is the devices controlling a proper elevator that don't sync.

if it was posible to make a physical part of the map, perhaps as a scenery model, move on a TIMED bsis, would that work?

any scenery animated that u supposed to walk on, or device cannot sync

ya i know it wont sync on multiplayer and i need it for a huge singleplayer level we are working on. What i really want to know is how to make a control panel and then get it working. will i have to record the animation in the exact spot in 3dsmax in my map or do i record it and then place the scenery in sapien and align it so that when it goes down it gets to the right spot?

their are a couple ways to do it, take down the co-ordinates of your elevator relative to the map maby? I've found at least 5 ways but i use blender so my way wouldn't work for you. try modeling the elevator in your map then separating it and making it it's own object.

ok im just gona try modeling it and animating it in my map and then making it onto a device and script it and then put it in the right spot in sapien and hope it goes all the way up my structure
