I have heard that you can convert a .gmax file to a .3DS file. Is this true? How?

I now you can use the OBJ exporter script, but my freind says it looked all gimped when he imported it.

If you have gmax, save it as a 3ds(I think... haven't used it in a while, but I know it can import .3ds files).

I would do more prodding on whether or not this is true but I thought that you could save in .max files which 3ds can open and then you save that file as .3ds ?

You can only save as a gmax file. And you can only export as a plasma file. (not including scripts)

Export as a .jms and make it a .gbxmodel. Then import the gbxmodel into 3ds max, and export it from there as a .3ds
