i always learned that plane modeling is the best. Though ive never modeled. I think wireframe modeling with verticies would be something. the difficult part is working in the 3 dimensional world.

The modeling technique doesn't matter, Its how the outcome looks. Some techniques are better for different things. I box model things some times. Sometimes I will spline model or just plain out plane model.
