im trying to export from gmax with the ghost's bluestreak script and i alredy linked my map with the frame and then wen i tryed to export it seems like it freezes then it says --Unknown property:"name" in undefined. please help me this is my first map

its named frame so thats not the problem. how do u close edges?

Weld works for me.

Go to verticies mode, select all the verticies, and weld by 0.1. =)

Hemmmm.. that's a good way to fix open edges. Atleast ones with a .1 gap. Are you sure all objects and materials are named correctly?

yep my bases are called base01 and base02. my map is called skybox. and mt frame is called frame. now about welding..... i started another map on another pc and it was fine but wer does it export it to?

When you export from gmax, it goes into the MaxListener.

Download Chimp and there is a program called grablistener in there. Read the readme and it should tell you what to do, just replace Chimp with bluestreak.

Yeah, more or less. You just need the program grablistener which comes with chimp

ok. but the one that i successfully exported is on another pc which doesnt have HEK. so how do i export another one thats on my HEK pc. it says no actors to export. i linked it to the frame. now wat

No actors to export means that there isn't anything linked to the frame.

Are you sure you linked? And are you sure that it is called frame only?

yea i moved wats supposed to be my frame and it moved my map with it. and yes i named it frame

no actors to export is a linking problem.
try linking them again.

nvr mind it worked i hadnt named it frame on that one lol. now about grablistener can somone post a link to chimp or som thing. if not then ill just find it myself. thnx guys for all the help. i may call on u l8r if i hav any problems.

Text editor = something like notepad or wordpad or microsoft word. You right click the .jms, go to Open With, then find your Notepad/wordpad/microsoft word. It'll take a while to load normally, cause there is a hell lotta text/numbers.

ooooooooooooooooo ok thats a big help cuz i tryd my hex editor but i couldnt find wat it sed to look for lol.
EDIT: ok i opened it in notepad and i did the find thing and searched for *****Begin Jms***** and it cant find it then i did a manual search witch took forever and i didnt find it wtf?

If you can't find that, skip it. Try to compile it in tool.

ok how do i do that wen i tryd to compile it it sed that toolbeta thing wich doesnt do nofin then it sed build cache fil (scenario_name) i think thats all it sed. my exported thingy is in data\levels\first map\models but tool looks in tags so wat do i do do i move the data to the tags folder?

Wait, currently you just have a mapname.jms, right?

If so, type tool structure levels\mapname mapname

If you have it as .scenario and you want to turn it into a .map,
tool build-cache-file levels\mapname\mapname

ok i downloaded toolrunner and i added .jms to the end of the name and now toolrunner can see it so i opened itin tool and it told me to choose a type of shader for the 'base'
1. shader_environment
2. shader_model
3. shader_transparent_generic
4. shader_transparent_chicago
5. shader_transparent_chicago_extended
6. shader_transparent_water
7. shader_transparent_glass
8. shader_transparent_meter
9. shader_transparent_plasma

which one do i choose?

It should if there aren't any errors.

You did use default halo textures, right? Not any custom? Cause if you use custom, you have to edit the shader.

wait, so currently you have the mapname.jms file, you tried compiling, it told you to choose a shader and you chose one?

From there on, you make it into a .scenario by running the command again.

But then again, I don't need to tell you all this...
