I am seriously considering turning off the image posting functionality in the forum. It seems that like most small ill behaved children you continually try to push the boundaries of acceptable behavior. And since apparently no one has yet told you, posting a picture, humorous or distasteful, to make a response to a message within a thread is NOT acceptable behavior. I don’t expect you all to behave or think as adults since clearly most of you are not but this nonsense is just so yesterday and foolish it that I can’t believe you are still doing it.

I do not want to disable images since for the most part it is useful for displaying relevant information about works in process but if this abuse keeps up I will turn them off. This forum is and On-Topic forum about the Halo CE game and there are acceptable rules of conduct for the forum. The posting of extraneous pictures is not acceptable and is akin to spam.

Please stop. My options are to ban everyone who does it or turn off the images.

People do get a little overboard...

I've never and don't plan to. How are we supposed to show our images. Make the user go to image shack instead of just looking at the thread? Though the problem remains that little immature kids come here to spam people and they think it is fun. If we do ban, they just come back as a different user and continue.

It's all about the GTFO gifs and pics.

It's not always little kids. I see people older than me always spamming or making some useless post.

NO it isn't. It is about posting the facepalms and GTFO and WTF and animated images as a sole response.

Guys, seriously, I leave for four hours of terrible sleep to return to see my thread locked due to the mutual problems of other people and their GTFO gifs. Now, I know it's difficult to not post GIFs and pics in such a topic, but it moved from funny GIFs of explaining your opinion to pointless pictures that serve no purpose. Now, I rather not have to have pictures revoked because of someone else's stupidity. This means no visual updates on maps, no pics on WIP, and nothing else related to map teams. Dennis, I would skip Probation and warnings and go straight to the Banhammer.

Anyway, on topic, I think that they should just be banned. It would keep a lot of people happy.

Its happening the same as to what happened with signatures, all of us are going to lose the privelage of posting images just because of a few people in particular.

Just ban them.

Just ban the people posting these images, and maybe even people who have already posted them.
I hope we don't lose the ability to post images because of this..

As H Guru said, our privileges are slowly being taken away here because of all the people abusing them. We've lost our signatures and our post count and now we're on the edge of losing our ability to post images. I also say ban. The only images I post are the ones of my WIPs.

Well, I don't say ban EVERYONE who has ever posted an image of that sort, but the multiple offenders who have been warned and continue, yes, smite them with your mighty banhammer.

My point is, for those who have missed it, is to keep the posting of superfluous joke images to a minimum. Since moderation is a concept that does not seem to come easily to most of you I am telling you to keep it to a minimum or else there will be consequences. I ban spammers and wipe all their posts and threads from the forum with a single click. Please don’t make me have to do it to you.

I am not trying to be a hard ass about this, I am asking that you apply some common sense to your actions here in the forum. Posting GTFO and face-palm or the miscellaneous animated images is just not acceptable behavior. It has been done it was funny once and now it is so old that it is annoying to most.

Dennis is it possible for u to ban someones ip address? (they can always use a proxy to get in)?
I think it would be best to maybe ban an account (note the ip) then if said address creates another account they get an automated im telling them thats its their last chance and anymone breaking of rules will result in them nol onger being able to post or even dload anything from the site.

Why not limit the number of images per post, or enhance the image feature to function like the shot tag feature on modacity? That way the images would be small and you would have to click to enlarge them

I don't see how shot tags stop people from legitimately posting work. And you can just as easily create a url link to an image or gallery of images to show off your work
