Phantom for Halo CE:
Released!

Yes, this phantom is ready to go! It seems to be perfectly ready (for release that is) so I've decided to let it go out to the community.

This package includes the phantom, and it's features are:

Flies like a Covenant Dropship (or Spirit)
Three mounted turrets
Turrets are destructible
Turrets are DEADLY at close range
And, has a nice destroyed effect :awesome:

And, of course, the tags:

http://files.filefront.com/phantomrar/;10852807;/fileinfo.html

Enjoy them! It took a while, about a week just to get it right!

Still looks like there's some things that need to be fixed. Namely the massive fps drop when you destroy a turret.
EDIT: just opened up the shader tags, why are there shader_environment tags?

Isn't there already a phantom like this? Its not hard to make all 3 turrets work.. Is the entire phantom destructible?

oh yeah and you need to put this tag in the archive, because it won't load without it:

effects\decals\bullet holes\plasma red burn inner glow.decal

This phantom is different...

The shader_enviroment tags were left in because thats what the original phantom used. (model wise)

Also, the massive fps drop, I had that as well, to fix, just replace it with the plasma grenade explosion effect. Other than that, leave it.

Fixed archive, redownload.

If there is anymore problems, tell me, and Ill be glad to fix it. That means you too Nugga :)

I'd rather go without than take what you'd bring.

It is incredibly easy to make an object able to be destroyed or indestructible. I had to do this with this set of H2 Warthogs because even though they looked great, being destructible in MP was a nono.

I tried out the tag in an sp map, it works really well! I think the turrets are a little too overpowered though..

Aren't dropships usually mostly scenery?

with the shader_environment, how come you didnt use the REAL bumps like this

oh, some of the phantom looks weird and off, the covies can be killed very easy by a rocket launcher in my modded SP b40 campgain, im gonna fix it up abit
Edited by Spartan_094 on Jun 30, 2008 at 11:31 AM

Even if he added those, the bump maps wont show up. You have to bake it to the diffuse or multipurpose maps.
