Not stupid at all. I explain how they are made in the very first panel: http://hcec.halomaps.org/comics.cfm?scid=1

Quote: Each panel is a screenshot from the game taken using the developer’s camera and then enhanced and touched up using Photoshop.

Reminds me of a cutscene from Bioshock.

Most of the animals except the flying reptiles are added into the scene with Photoshop. The large cat in episodes 24 and 25 http://hcec.halomaps.org/comics.cfm?cid=51 was a modified mountain lion. The ringtail in this episode is a combination of a racoon and a lemur I put together. Back in Episode 16 (http://hcec.halomaps.org/comics.cfm?cid=43) I added the Spider. I was hoping that some of you guys would make some animated scenery models of creatures to add but there hasn't been much interest so I have had to add them myself. There will most likely be other creatures as they progress across the ring.
