Curve your fingers around the handle a bit more also. Also, if you have a stick or anything, pretend to hold it like a pistol (in real life), copy that position you made with your fingers.

Directed at pingvins: I would suggest making the left hand grip the gun its self rather than just support the arm. Heres an example that I made: origin: Different point of view: I also suggest making the arms not perfectly straight in the origin. That tends to mess things up further down the line Edited by ICEE on Sep 15, 2008 at 08:24 PM

From what I know, it also doesn't look exactly natural at that origin's position neither. Definitely put the arms at an angle that isn't 180* or 90*.

The point of making the arms at an angle like that is so that when you move the gun in the actual animations, there is room for the arms to move rather than being already stretched taut, which causes them to become detached from the gun. besides, the only thing that really matters in the animations is what is visible from the players point of view. Don't nitpick when you don't know what your talking about.

Quote: --- Original message by: DarkHalo003Quote: --- Original message by: ICEE knowledge before criticism. Yeah, what would be a good tut to begin animating? That, like modeling, is used universally in jobs today. I never found a tut. I mostly taught myself and got criticism from my friends and from [s]h2vista[/s] modacity. Criticism ends up being the best teacher. Im thinking of writing a tutorial that covers the basic functions of max that relate to animating, and some of the little tricks of the trade that help animators, but like I said a tutorial only goes so far. Your ignorance is incredible. By the way I wasn't asking for criticism on the pistol, I was trying to give an example of what I meant when I said that pingvinz should make his left hand grip the weapon. I long ago buried the hatchet on CMT's pistol, and it wont be changing anyways since I don't work for them anymore.

Here are some pictures of a little side project i took out of boredom. I call it the m6c2. It is a revamp of the m6c magnum (halo 2 pistol) with a new gameplay setup. The rate of fire is slowed and it takes 4 headshots to get a kill. Hopefully it will prove more balanced than any of bungie's magnums. The model is just halo 2's original model, and so is the skin, but I altered it a bit to make it more plausible as a new gun, not just the same old magnum with a silencer stuck on it. but uhh.. It does have a silencer stuck on it. I modeled and skinned the silencer myself. Anims are almost done, so it will be released soon. renders: ready animation:

There were objections to me releasing it because it had sigma's firebomb model and skin included in it. Sorry :/
This magnum has absolutely nothing to do with sigma, and will be released possibly tonight.

I finished the m6c2 magnum tags. Here they are for download: http://files.filefront.com/M6C2+pistol+tagszip/;11813571;/fileinfo.html ingame screens: They will be on halomaps in the next update. I hope. The m6c2 differs from other pistols because I actually tried to balance it. It has a 10 round clip, a slightly slowed rate of fire and kills in 4 headshots. enjoy
