First go at a forerunner texture based on a Halo 3 texture. I'm currently still working on it but I thought I'd see what the general opinion was of it. And if it turns out well perhaps someone would like to use it in map because too lazy to make any at the moment XD. I did post this in the W.I.P thread here but i didn't really much feedback so i just want some comments and suggestions please. Fig:1 512x512 Small version Fig:2 Tiled in max Fig:3 Full sized 1024x1024 http://img507.imageshack.us/img507/5280/11066649xg9.jpg

I'd rather go without than take what you'd bring.

Looks like a good start but it is a little cartoony. Add some stuff that makes it look more real.

Looks like it could or should be 2 textures, the grill in front, and the blue behind it, like how "alpha grate" gets used with "circuits". Did you model and render that? The shading looks too perfect for it to be all gimped/photoshopped

Thanks ye it does look a tad cartoony need to make it more realistic somehow any ideas?
Perhaps if i make all the sections appear like brushed metal or add a slight percentage of noise ? *Ooh also it will look better when its got a lovely bump map*
As for the texture there will be another part which will go under neath that to make it a full wall height.
did that make sense? Edited by Tricky on Mar 24, 2008 at 02:41 PM Edited by Tricky on Mar 24, 2008 at 02:42 PM

Like the others, this needs more detail. From looking at it i cant tell if its metal or not. Add some scratches or stains.
