Hey all!

I think all of you should get at least 4 people together and try playing the map Amaranth in either slayer, team slayer, or oddball mode. I know from personal experience that the people who are in my clan looked at pictures of this map and said "it sucks" but when I added it to our cycle the map quickly became our most popular map.

We like to play oddball on it with standard weapons and it can be quite fun with only 3 players. This map is already in our map cycle just in case you are looking for a regular server with Amaranth already installed.

Please try the map out and please post what you think of it.

Thanks,

STW Picard

I tried it with 4 of my friends, and we didn't like it to be honest. :\ We tried Slayer, CTF, and Oddball.

Hey HogdriverOneFiveFive!

Our server has a password on it to save me money. So please make sure you have password protected servers enabled on your halo ce search criteria.

You can xfire me at evpicard if you do find the server and find it empty. If I know someone is looking for a game I can usually get some of my clan members to get some games going.

I hope you end up finding our server. FYI the server title is "!! STW Clan Server pass = trek"

STW Clan is recruiting new members with no tryouts......just an interest to play halo ce on a semi regular basis. Our xfire site is here: http://xfire.com/clans/stwoh

Thanks,

Picard

Hey Joshflighter!

I don't think I have gone overboard on my "advertising" my clan, but thanks for the information. I am glad you will be checking out the map. If you can get at least three people, I think you will see that it is a fun map to play (oddball is best without nav points IMO).

Thanks,

Picard

Now we're getting offtopic..

This map is ...bland. The gameplay is horrible, and really, unbalanced.

Well thats because you are remarkably unintelligent.

He is simply asking if anyone wants to play a map with him.

... Not to mention advertising his Server, his clan, and the map.. and he never once said "come play with me D:"

Once again Dark Zeolot causes trouble... Also I tried the map it is good but the game play can be better. Nice work so far. Also I recommend either setting up your own dedi on your own computer or pay more to get rid of the password. I made a guide for the Halo CE dedicated server. If you want it xfire me and I will give it to you. Wish you luck.

I have played this map as well and I enjoy it on oddball alot. I can understand how you can call it bland, but would you please explain how it is unbalanced? I like the map because it has a bunch of tactical points you can defend the oddball with, yet no matter what you can always kill your way in to get the oddball, therefore, forcing your team to work together in order to win. (I have only played this on oddball. lol) This map reminds me of a bigger Nightlock so if you liked that map you will most likely like this one too. I really think that people should try more maps out instead of just assuming their bad because of their pictures. I have found a lot of great maps that less than 2000 people have downloaded. Well that is my opinion on Amaranth. :P

Hey supersniper,

As of now I like my dedicated the way it is. After I graduate from college and find a job I will most likely pay to make it public. I don't think having my own dedicated server on my computer is the answer but that might change. Thanks for testing the map, and I hope to see you on our server sometime.

Hey Neelix,

You made nice points on Amaranth. Thanks for posting.

Hey Quark,

No need to apologize. I hope you are having a good time where ever you are. The clan just got two more people with a couple more interested in joining so our clan is still increasing in size. I just got to get people interested in playing other maps than coldsnap, yoyorast, and even bloodgulch for ce. As you know there are tons of maps that are fun but aren't popular due to people not really searching for maps but playing based on what others are playing.

Later,

Picard

Hello RougeSpartan414,

We don't have that map because it is too big. I think you need at least 10 people to have fun playing it. If you notice, the maps in our cycle are small to medium in size and can be fun with as little as three people. I hope you will give the maps in our map cycle a chance and stop by our server for some fun.

Thanks,

Picard

Hey, picard, I dont mean to look like a potential thread hijacker, or to advert my maps incessantly; but (and only if you're interested) do you think you could chuck on a map or two of my own creation? I could use the publicity, and I feel that these maps are the best I've made to date. They've yet to appear on halomaps (as I've only recently uploaded them) but i've got temporary links for rapidshare downloads (which will update as the maps appear on halomaps).

here is the link to the maps:

http://forum.halomaps.org/index.cfm%3Fpage=topic&topicID=16227

I feel that this will help me get some more crit for my maps, and help solidify what I need to change for their final versions. I have my own server running but nobody plays on it. :/

P.S. I'm going to first check that I have all the maps for your server, then I'm going to try it out.

Hey Mr Gruntsworthy,

I will check out your maps once they have been made available on this website. I can make no promises as to whether they will end up in the map cycle because we vote on ALL of the maps in our cycle. I just don't go adding maps whenever I feel like it with the exception of Amaranth and that map won my members over.

I did read the thread where you posted the rapidshare links and it seems like a lot of people have issues with certain parts of each map. Are they really ready for release???? Anyway......I hope to see you on our server at some point.

Thanks,

Picard

well the maps are only in their beta stage, but so far no one seems to have any issues with them other than uv's and weapon placement.
