Is it just me, or is our community growing? I've noticed a lot more people asking about halo ce, and the xfire meter of playing time has been growing. And I looked at the bottom of the forums to see how many people were on. 700 somthing non-registered users. And on youtube, more videos were being viewed about Halo CE. I never get tired of Halo 3, and Halo 3 is much better then CE. Even if you can do things you can never do in it, it still is a much better game.

Only thing better really about halo 3 is its ranking system, graphics, and forge. Also, unlockable armor is cool.

Edited by MYTHIC_113 on Mar 9, 2008 at 12:47 PM I have noticed not only our community growing some but people are also way more active. I have seen more projects in the works then i have in awhile. I don't think people playing CE is ever going to match halo pc but i do hope it gets larger. The big thing holding halo ce back is lack of a player base, well that and all those useless always empty dedi servers. How do those stay up so long when like no one ever joins some of them. you would think the owners of those dedis would realize they weren't being played.

Well if more people make sweet maps (not bashing older maps) there will be more to choose from thus more kinds of people will join fact is people want H3ish stuff or brand new cool stuff to play with.

How do those stay up so long when like no one ever joins some of them. you would think the owners of those dedis would realize they weren't being played. Not to mention that a good majority of those empty dedicated servers are running default maps. I don't think anybody would waste their time downloading a 200 mb installer and installing Halo CE just to play the same maps that are available in Halo PC. I honestly do not see why players still play the default maps in Halo CE. If that's what you want, then go back to Halo PC. The CE community has spawned hundreds of great maps, and if every single server could be convinced to run good custom maps, I think there would be more of a reason to switch to Halo CE.

Quote: --- Original message by: selentic Well atleast someone here is smart, a few months ago everyone was going on about how CE was dying when it clearly wasn't, and then theres the whole tired of halo 3 thing. I know, and everybody is wasting space on this site with "OMG! our community is dying!!" threads. Our community is clearly not dying. Also, when my computer was broken, I learned about this game and thought "I really wish my computer didn't go." So I remembered I had a copy of halo that I never played anymore, and told my friend about Halo CE and gave it to him. He was real excited, but after a while, he said it got boring. I got a new computer and took the disc back. About a week later, I went to his house and he said he missed it. How quick people return to this game! Edited by MYTHIC_113 on Mar 9, 2008 at 03:14 PM

Well, the community definatly took a couple hard hits in the recent months... but again, it's a COMMUNITY TASK to keep the community alive such as taking a break from making a map to go hold a server with friends that don't play alot anymore...to try to give them the spark in Halo CE they had before

I'll probably be leaving this community soon, because nothing entirely good has come out. Sure, I'll come back, play SPv2 for a little, then go back to Call of Duty 4 like the rest of us Americans. Funny, as the more anticipated games come out (Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, Unreal Tournament, Super Mario Galaxy, Orange Box, ect.) the more Halo CE has grown, or so I think.

I actually like this forum more then playing halo ce. I mostly am here to talk about the upcoming projects as well as help where i can. Though i am not a map maker i enjoy hanging out there, that is why i have been so active for so long. As long as this site is around i plan to continue to post on it.
Once SPv2 comes out Halo CE will get a new life i think. It's just want people need to see to have faith that good stuff will still happen. I honestly wish the hek could do user created recorded animations.

SPV2 is CMT and I wouldn't get too much hype to it. It's in the end merely repopulated Campaign( with, we are agreed, Great tags that however remain private) but then again, it's only that. Not as worthy as some epic new map or tagset or vehicle that people can share upon, play together and expand.

An Epic new map needs something interesting and never seen before, such as the mega bumped portal topic, or a working gravity gun or something THATS NOT a huge map with nukeguns everwhere.

I think your underestimating how many of us and non halomaps community members are looking forward to it. yes tags most likely won't be released but it will still show people some of the cool stuff you can create if your good enough. It will also be something new to talk about. Alot of spv2 inpact is going to be "wow you can do it." its just showing some of the more advanced things you can do. It's not all about tags being released or not. Some of the bighest impacts on halo ce are not always tags.

Normally, the community hibernates during the winter, most users have school and what not, and it wakes up during the summer.
