Man you all suck. WHO THE HELL MAKE AN UNPROTECTER IN THE FIRST PLACE. There was a reason protection was made and now you have to go and destroy that reason. That just shows you have no respect towards other people's work. Also what was your intention to make the unprotecter anyways. Yes you even distributed it to others as well. As far as I can tell this is all DarkZealot's fault.

Yes i'm new here and that I probably dont have the big picture regarding all this drama and map protection junk. But what i really fail to see is why everyone is trying to change everyone else's opinion? cant u just live with someone else's opinion? if u cant live with someone else's opinion here, how are you going to deal with the people in real life? Also im pretty sure that in real life, people arent just going to listen to all the nasty things u say to one another. Unfortunately people would probably resort to violence. So all your doing here is learning new ways to probably get yourself into lots of fist fights for the rest of your life. Do you really want that for your future? I can assure you that it would be a painful future and nothing good will come out of it.

Back more onto the point though. I'm new here and i genuinely like these forums; sure not everyone gets along as well as they could. But really thats just life. But this is uncalled for and has been blown out of propotions that really, are unacceptable. I also dont want to see these forums shutdown. Or at least not for a while longer.
Remember; if people got along and started helping each other; life would be nicer and the 'dream' can go on longer. If these forums shut down; where would YOU go? Halomods??

I don't care if this is on topic or off topic; this is something people should read and always keep in the back of their head; whether they like it or not.

EXACTLY. He created it, he had the intention to bring down CMT because of what he posted in the CMT thread, he made it public to people, and he then posted a "fake" apology and blamed it on someone else. That is what is really happening. He is trying to protect is own rep at the cost of ruining someone else's.

Now why are you bringing me into this. People forgiving me has NOTHING to do with this arguement. Ans us "idiots" are only bringing out the TRUTH. We argue because you simply cannot blame someone for your fault. If anything I think you need to grow up and learn what Apologize really means.

Man but you don't get it. The reason a map is protected is because the creator does NOT want his created content to be released publicly. And if someone is going to make a unprotecter then he is accessing files in which should not be accessed. To me that shows no respect towards the map CREATOR. I think I know my respect.

Protecting is bad, but not as bad as you think. If you ask nicely, and the map isn't a box, or a mod of a map no one will download, you will get the tags.

Really the only thing I would want from any protected map is the animations for some weapons, including:
CMT sniper and AR animations
And maybe some textures from other maps, but that's about it.

Protecting is selfish final, I wish to no longer persue this topic *hides behind a bush*

its a touchy subject because pple feel strongly about it. I have a really hard time understanding some of the opinions in this thread because i like to share and get a good feeling from it.

Scenario1: I make an uber vehicle all by myself and am very proud of it, i then upload the tags to halomaps. next featured map is an awesome bsp (made better than i could) and its got my new vehicle in it . Results: I am very happy to have my vehicle in a great map. The map maker is very happy to be able to use it. The community is happy with the new map.

Scenario2: I make an uber vehicle all by myself and am very proud of it, i then upload the tags to halomaps. next map released is a gulchmodd with my vehicle but the skin has flowers on it and the vehicleweapon shoots cans of spam. Results: I shake my head and have a good giggle about it. The mapmaker dissapeares into time. No 1 dloads or plays the map.

Well I can accept his forgiveness now I just needed to cool down a bit. But that app should be destroyed if it hasn't been so already.
