I believe it has to do with the sequences of the story.

All arrival missions are A (a10, a30, a50)

Exploring forerunner facilities is the B series.

Flood discovery and combat is the C series

Destroying halo is the D series.

Because the sky is blue

The sky is blue because of oxygen in our atmosphere; it is tinted slightly blue. Now, simply imagine how much oxygen there is from where you are sitting right now to the very end of our atmosphere. All of that oxygen in our sky contributes to the blue color that fills our skies most of the day.

Now on other planets where another gas is more abundant in the atmosphere, the sky would be the color of that gas, or close to it.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the Sky is blue because of the oceans reflection towards the sky which is blue.

I think the question was solved.

Umm....Thats totaly wrong. The sky is not a mirror. Also, what about the deserts. They should have Orange sky's instead. lol. But again, thats what i know, i may be wrong.

im pretty sure thats correct. and the reason the sky is not brown above a dessert is because of the earths curve and the fact that most of the planet is blue.
maybe im wrong too.

I thought it was a little different, but this can also be connected to that, how every map with the same starting letter takes place right after another(ex. a30 starts right after a10, d40 starts right after d20, b40 after b30 etc...)
