If someone can help me with this then that would be great, anyhow...

im looking for a good screen recorder that can record sound and can record for a decent amount of time about 2-3 minutes. fraps would be a bad example for it only records for 30 seconds, but it does have sound.

heres some im not planning to use

camstudio
fraps
gamecam , since gamecam cant record sound unless u got a bought version...

please let me know a screen recorder that can record sound and is free. thanks!

Fraps actually can record for as long as you want if you buy the full version. you only have the trial version which can only record for 30 seconds. but, Fraps has terrible compression and a 1 minute long video can be over gig.

Then you might as well just use a camcorder and film your monitor.... Fraps is certainly the best out there, in my opinion. It's not too expensive either...

I'd rather go without than take what you'd bring.

I don't think you can actually edit it because of the special codec it uses. I have tried but the only way I could edit an xfire video is screenshotting every single frame...

and making a new video with Virtual DUB.

And yes, it is painful.

But you cannot edit it using most video editors because it uses it's own unique codec.

They're owned by MTV. They have the money to do that kind of stuff. The video was added on last months update.

the video compression of xfire is just as bad if not worse than fraps.

Remember, xfire's video is only a beta.
