Works on my Vista without any problems. Had to update my graphics driver though to get rid of purple lighting on coldsnap, and square edges around lights, but that problem varies with different pcs.

Everyone I know who's had Vista, never had a problem with running CE. My best friend, it ran on his computer, but was just a little bit choppy and unusual. So I just set the "Run as Administrator" and "Run in compatibility mode for: Windows XP (SP2)", and we haven't had any problem whatsoever.
The only other thing that I had to do was simply change the annoying firewall on Vista not to try to block out CE every time, because Vista's "security" is pathetic.
I never had to do anything with the video card, but there are several ways you can get to it. NVidia GeForce and ATI Radeon you can get to both by right-clicking, going to "Properties", then to "Settings", and there's generally a button that says "Advanced", and if you click that, it usually pops up the GeForce or Radeon settings... Or, you can right click on the desktop, and some have a menu that shows the GeForce/Radeon control panel. Or, yet again, you can right click on "My Computer", go to "Manage Devices", find your ATI/NVidia card under Graphics Drivers or whatever, then right click on it and go to Properties, and again, that will lead you to the same place...
If you have an onboard video card, get a better one. xD
