What rendering engine are you using to make those renders. That does not look like the default one or MentalRay.

Quote: --- Original message by: martynball It will not smooth, bungies model is not smoothed as i used their model as a reference by flying around it ingame. I am using 3ds max 8 to render it. yes, their model is smoothed. look at how the reflection goes across the whole wing, and isn't different for every triangle. here's a pic to show you: http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r295/Nugga117/8594855-Full.jpg

as far as pelicans go...
I only wish that someone would bump-map either the multipurpose or main bitmap or BOTH in something like photoshop so that it would look more like h2/h3
take any pelican with the landing gear that extends when the pelican is close to the ground...
all it would really need is a bump map and it would look so much more like h2/h3. But then there would still be more work to make it 100%.

Quote: --- Original message by: martynball I was planning on making it high poly because Halo CE cannot use bumpmaps.
If i add the detail in the model then you dont need the bumpmaps.
But that would only cause a bit of lag for people with decent graphics cards. well... Quote: I only wish that someone would bump-map either the multipurpose or main bitmap or BOTH in something like photoshop so that it would look more like h2/h3 I did not say use a bump-map in game. I KNOW that does not work except on glass and bsp. WHAT I SAID was for someone to take PHOTOSHOP or SOME IMAGE EDITING PROGRAM and apply the bump map TO THE TEXTURE OR MULTIPURPOSE, as in a bump mapped image is the main texture. and even if you added the detail to the model, it would still look like crap if the details werent defined in the texture because of halo 1's lack of real-time lighting. With Realvizes "imagemodeler" You can Extract textures off of 2 or more referenced pictures. It even panos the ripped textures.

Quote: --- Original message by: martynball That is why i would EDIT the pelicans texture and ADD details. And adding the BUMPMAP to the TEXTURE WOULD NOT make it seem more H2 Style.
If YOU want to try that then try it and dont be an ass with me.
i DONT care if you KNOW that bumpmaps only work on bsp and glass.
I was simply telling you what i was simply going to do, so stfu. Noo..You stfu.
