if you mean using the line create tool, then yes, occasionally. if i need to create a weird custom shape. its kinda useful or making caves sometimes.

use the grid snaps and u can make some cool shapes for sure that way man.

I dont use the line took that often, im sad to say. I modeled a very simple head with it the other day though, i drew the profile and extruded, cuttin\adding bits as I went. haha, i usually model from a plane, box, or cylinder.

I was making verts, then faces. slightly tedious
I thought spline modelling would have something to do with the Loft modifier and stuff like that
