Here's what I've got after a day's work:






I know it needs textures, but unfortunately 3ds Max closes whenever I click UVW Unwrap. I need suggestions on what to add on to the model. Something doesn't look right...

Ripping from a game and claiming it for yours is even worse than going to turbosquid because your taking the model from a game and stealing it. Just claiming it as yours makes me sick, you didn't even credit bungie or anything.

What the hell? I haven't ripped anything!? Why in the world would you say I ripped that? Because it's accurate? How would you all like it if I went around claiming that your Spiker models were ripped? How do you think that'd make you feel? I haven't ripped that from Halo 3. What's it going to take to prove it to you? A few pictures of my 3D work?

I think the model looks cool for both the pod and mc model.

not in halo 3 well didn't halo wars take place several years before even the first halo game? im talking about the halo story time line not release dates of the games.

I added some more details and changed some stuff also clay rendered it and new smoothing groups have been added.

Since when was it the date that said he was a n00b? Just because he joined a month before you and you can't model a decent map doesn't mean everyone is like that.

The pieces aren't connected on his model, makes it kind of obvious that it isn't a rip (bungie in most cases connects most of the pieces on their weapons).

Now thats just stupid. And yes, people are able to model before they get here, 3ds Max/3d modeling is not just a Halo exclusive thing. Which is why theres places like turbosquid filled with models from people, who coincidentally, dont play HCE.

ah well I stand corrected.
However the fact of the matter is that the missile pod is not ripped, there's many things on it that don't match up with the official pod. Also, the guy seems to have prior modeling experience anyways.

i would hardly consider bungies ar or flamer "skill in modeling" but it does significantly reduce triangle count to model like that

omg does anyone remember when Dano was accusing sigma of ripping the turret and mauler when they were NOTHING like the one in halo 3, nor was the mauler even in the beta?
grunt, you ave basically repeated this error, but i can kinda see why you would think so. which is a compliment. i dont know what the real h3 missile pod looks like, but yours is that good that i couldn't tell if it was a rip or not.

UPDATE!

I changed the front cross part (found out the missiles don't come from there), took away some unnecessary details + polygons, moved some pieces around to make it more accurate, and made the back area shorter.

Unfortunately, me nor my computer are capable of UVW Unwrapping. Why me? Because whenever I try it screws up. Why my computer? Because it seems to want to shut Max down whenever I open up the UVW Unwrap modifier. I'd be willing to send it to somebody who's work I've seen as long as they can unwrap it.

Is that really what the projectile looks like? doesn't look right to me but I've never payed attention to what the missile looks like. and listen to the guys at h2v about the holes in the front part. or maybe that could be done with bitmaps.

Yes, actually, the projectile does look like that. I thought it was weird too the first time I saw it. I think it needs to be a little thicker though. I'm going to be lazy like Bungie was and just make holes with the bitmaps. XD

11 objects total. I'm going to edit it a bit and make it have less later. Right now I'm busy on another Halo 3 project. ;p

Object 1 and 2 - Barrel
Object 3 and 4 - Handles
Object 4 through 11 - Weird things in the back

No, there's 8 IDs. The parts in the back all are going to have the same color.
