lots of edge extruding makes for a very time-consuming project. However I have high hopes for the ingame product. Just a few pics of my progress so far.

My advice, dont, do lost canyons, I found redrock exceptionally boring.
EDIT: Your cliffs are exceptionally boring, if you release this, please make them a lot less boring. Edited by selentic on Nov 13, 2007 at 04:09 PM I'm doing Empire City after this. Also, I want a picture of your cliffs. Next 24 hrs.

A can of apple juice says this one will never see the light of CE either. <_< Nope. Not if you keep making comments like that. Hey what happened to Contempelation? Haven't seen any updates on that. Also, said map's cliffs are pointy. Never seen pointy cliffs. Also, i'd like to point out that all of work is UNPROTECTED. I want to perfect my stuff so that when releasing comes around, you don't get crap for content. Edited by Nugga117 on Nov 13, 2007 at 04:27 PM

The model is original, the textures are not. I took them from NFS3, in all their 64x64 pixel glory. The track shape is roughly based off of Redrock Ridge from said game, but I decided against replicating it. Many features from the original map are here, such as the tall rock formation, the tunnels, the train overpass, and the rock outcroppings in the middle of the road. And instead of teh large satellite dish, there's gonna be the pictured forerunner structure. The bitmaps on that were taken from a Halo 2 texture pack on this site. I made custom bumpmaps for it using the free program "Crazy Bump".
Also I intend on making the road a little more varying in the height department, and also count on there being custom road signs.

It would be grand if you did that one next if you do make another one of these. It'll be difficult, but I'll try it. Aquatica is fun, I have to admit. Empire city just had a cool feeling to it. Felt like a near future metropolis ruled and oppressed by big corporations. Plus the banked stairs in front of the church were cool.

It is a proven fact, that for any racing map to be truely epic, banjo music is required.

The texture was downloaded from here: http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?pg=3&fid=1448 The model is mine, made to fit the shape of the texture.

Well it seems that Max wanted to corrupt the file, so now this project is left in limbo. I had planned to use Matooba's vehicles along with the red viper and a civvi hog in race mode, but now I can't. I'm not exactly sure if I feel like redoing this project, as I was quite far into it. If I do, it'll be a smaller track.
