hi, ive been working on my assualt rifle once again, and this time i believe my anims are much improved. i took the critiques that i received last time to heart, and here is the result. reload: http://files.filefront.com/ARreloadtk2mov/;8788687;/fileinfo.html melee: http://files.filefront.com/ARmeleemov/;8784587;/fileinfo.html please, comment on these two animations. (for those concerned about my frequent creations of these threads, please note that i locked all predecessors.) and my usual disclaimer... THE PURPOSE OF THIS THREAD IS PURELY FOR CRITIQUE! I AM NOT LOOKING FOR ATTENTION, SHOWING OFF, TRYING TO OBTAIN REP, OR RELEASING A FINISHED PRODUCT! PLEASE POST ACCORDINGLY! thank you things i am NOT looking for in this thread!: flames spams rudeness (its totally possible to critique without being rude) posts that begin with "sorry but..." ( im not looking for pity, im looking for advice) comments such as "BUT THE ASSUALT RIFLE HAS BEEN DONE SO MANY TIMES!". i honestly dont care. discouragement. THINGS I AM LOOKING FOR IN THIS THREAD! criticism tips general words of wisdom to help me better myself. Edited by iron clad on Oct 13, 2007 at 02:19 PM

i can easily fix that. mainly i posted a slowed version to show the intricacy of the motions. if i feel that it needs to be faster for gameplay i will change it

No it wasn't, please leave. On the reload animation, when he puts the clip back in, make his hand rotated the same way as when he pulls the clip out. The way it is now looks VERY unconfortable and unorthodox.

I just have to say 1) Speed it up a bit 2) Change the position of the MA5C, unless you're not trying to make it totally Halo 3 style 3) I like how he kind of struggles to get it out at first 4) Not about the animations...but are you working on the ammo counter?

The melee is great, the reload is too slow, faster is good so you kill better

reload speed: working on it. i actualyl have this completely fixed.
display: yeah, the numbers work but they dont appear in max, so it looks like a gray blur.
repositioning the hand on clip insert: nah
position: not making it a perfect halo 3 imitation. that would be lame
screen touching: lol it kind of looks like he does doesnt it... well he's not. i can move the finger a bit Edited by iron clad on Oct 13, 2007 at 12:45 PM

is a nerf gun a heavy metal weapon that requires substancial force to get the magazine properly into the slot? bungie uses a very similar wriste position for their sniper rifle.

Wouldn't a metal weapon be like a nerf gun to a spartan?

How heavy the weapon is doesn't matter. The fact is that (with the current animations) the clip would be more difficult to jam up in there than what I suggested you do a few posts back. actually it does. if the weapon is heavy, you would not apply the pressure with your thumb, because that hurts. its a natural reaction
