I watched a movie, witch at the end, something caught my attention.. I saw the monitor floating around, and picking things up.. so I plugged my headphones in, and started listining.. in H3, there is some odd game type where each team has a player as the monitor.. their monitors can pickup items, vehicles, equipment.. you could grab a friend in a tank, lift him up, and put him in a high place to missle snipe :P or drop a warthog on the enemys lol
Now.. I was thinking.. this is SOOOOO 1337, so since im good at scripting, ill try to work it out.. there are a few set up scenarios ive thought of.. one is where teh first player to join is the only monitor, and he is suposto supply either team.. but I doubt he will lol. next scenario.. the monitor is 2 differnt vehicles, anyone can get on the vehicles, and they then become locked as the monitors.. now.. both those options didnt sound very apealing to me.. next option is that after a certain number of players joins, it kills all players, and sets it as first to get to a volume trigger behind each base becomes the monitor (the killing make sure that reds cant cheats and sit at blue base to take their monitor aswell.. then they spawn back at their base, and they can hop in the changer)
imagin the future in HCE.. grab a enemy shee out of the air and have it blown to bits lol, lieing saying that they are offering a tank to the other side as they send their monitor in covered in C4's (the monitors will be deathless just to tell you.. lol) having tanks carryed infrount of a army of people as the monitor blocks all the missle barashes.. and then having someone in a ghost carryed up a cliff just so they could get to a sniping point, adn they never have to leave since the monitor brings em ammo :P although.. if you get a bad monitor, he could only suply you with rockets even in a situation where you know you'll blow your own head off.. and he might carry you in a tank, and drop you from like 50 feet up trying to squish someone below
who all agrees its 1337? and who all has acualy played H3 that could explain more about it so that we have a beter vision of what they did, and what we could do that they didnt think of :P lol

igot it! have the monitor as a biped.... and enters a seat... and pick up vehi from there... MONITOR WARZ! (bacicly u can still move arround while in a gunner seat or passanger seat making the fly thing)

i have seen it, its pretty awesome. you can your teammate to stand on a tank while the monitor carries you to the other side.
also you can stand on the monitor itself and he can fly way up high and snipe people. but if he goes too fast you'll fall off. you also cannot be in a vehicles seat while the monitor picks it up. that would be awesome to get in a gauss hog turret and fly around shooting people. I honestly don't know if it's possible for the monitor to fly around with the crate or not. The main problem I see with this is the dynamic spawning issue. And the map file will be HUGE with all the extra stuff around there. It would also make things a lot simpler if there was a way to create object lists for the different objects... so you could change what object was available using list_get instead of having to specify the difference between crate_one and crate_two....
The idea is certainly possible... I was gonna just do it with the part about moving things around, but I could do a buying system where you start out with like 500, certain items cut 50, but if there isnt 50 or more, it cant. I dont realy think the buying items will work that well.. anyways, the way for the monitor to pick things up.. (objects_can_see_flag <object_list> <cutscene_flag> <real>) 2 or 3 bipeds that if they all see that thing, they attach it to the monitor.. now, to make sure it doesnt get used to push something threw the map, it attachs and detachs as long as the flashlight is on (that way it can bounce off a wall and land outside control zone meaning it gets dropped) the boxes would have to be vehicles.. almost everything that can be lifted has to be a vehicle.. the other ones would be like weapons, or equipment (imagin throwing bolders around LOL) anyways.. id have to script weapon respawn in if the weapon was liftable, cause it would have to be a SP weapon, not a MP one.. anyone have some good movies of monitor gametype? I wana watch more vids before I get it ingame. also, anyone post things they think should be added that wernt in H3 (tell us that they wernt in H3 aswell so we dont think this coo-coo idea was in H3 lol) I myself was thinking mb put a gravity gun on it aswell so it can pull items from across the map, or push things.. it will be better since it wouldnt have to be lifted up to move everything.

anyways, ive watched a few more vids of it where they talked more about it.. so, in H3, anyone can become a monitor at will?.. lol.. I realy dont feel that as a smart idea.. so im gonna make 2 versions, one based on how I feel it should work with hte set out people, and oen with everyone able to become a monitor and stuff like H3... but mine is higher priority for me since I myself like my idea of it over bungies lol.

Yep, that sums it up cheats. Limited # of vehicles, scenery, teleporters, goals, weapons, equipment(includes nades) and one other thing I cant think of off the top of my head. (I'll get back to ya later on it)
There are ways to make the monitor invincible, to all but death barriers and snowbound turrets, which kill all, bubble shelds dont work, only large amounts of scenery.
I made a bunker fulla like 40 explosives.... Almost like an 8 second long explosion, considering propane tanks fly around flaming....
I'll get vids, seeing as my XBL now has decided to update, hopefully my 360 became smarter and now knows not to defy me... XD

Kirby, what do you think about a looped script that detects which players are in the monitor vehicles, and then prevents them from entering a small volume around the flags... I might try making the monitor a biped and script enter the person into him.. idk if it would work, but you can add seats to bipeds, so why not? lol. and all I have to do to remove him exiting the monitor is to make a duplicate of W-driver that has the exit animation removed :P that means you can only make him exit by flipping, and I could add rider_ejection 0, but anyways.. if its biped, ive never seen a biped flip lol, so that problem is automaticly solved :P

I had thought that the command: (unit_set_enterable_by_player <unit> <boolean>) would allow you to deny access to a vehicle on an individual basis, like if you detected that they had the flag with: (unit_has_weapon <unit> <object_definition>), so that won't quite work that well. Instead you could use: (unit_exit_vehicle <unit>) to make them get out.
Alternatively you could also just rip them out of the monitor with a object_teleport command and put them back at the flag stand but that could be tricky with the assault game type.. Killing them might be easier but then the moniter is sitting there in enemy territory.

Nope.... Its a seperate game mode. Theres the solo campaign mode, campaign/co-op campaign mode, Custom game (mode), theater (mode), Matchmaking (mode), and the Forge Game mode. Its basically a whole seperate type of Custom game, with its own specific lobby, seperate from custom game lobbies, and co-op/campaign lobbies. And everyone can be a monitor, or only the host... I've heard about one from each team being monitor, but haven't seen an option for it. It is like a gametype, but not really, considering you can play other gametypes in it, AKA, CTF (gametype) can be played inside the Forge. Same with all the other gametypes I believe....

Only way I've gotten into forge is by either switching the lobby, or going from teh main menu, never under a gametype...

Ya, I was fairly disappointed in the reaction. Conscars made some comments that were "apparently" misunderstood by Kirby.. I interpreted it the same way that Kirby did, that he was saying the project would fail and that nothing good comes from here. Now Kirby might get labeled a noob for "misunderstanding" what he said..

I should apply the hud there to the other vehicles and see what tweeks I need to do before I release it.. lol  lol, the future is real time HPC log mods.. let the enemys build a huge tower, wait for them to get in it, melee a single suport, the whole thing falls over and kills them all lol (the newbs acualy gotta wory about structual sport since it can fall over lol)

i'm srry when its a stupid idea but i'm not really well with the map creater I have already dicided how im rigging it up, after the first 4 players join, it kills all players so they resawn at their base, and they enter a volume trigger to choose their monitor.

  ROCK ACTION!! lol some things need work before I make a vid. like I need to make custom physics for hte monitor that dont make him flip rapidly (hes using peli physics witch realy doesnt work that well for small areas lol) anyways.. hmm.. I realy should go rub this in conscars face lol (hmm.. but I should probly wait untill I have a vid.. lol)
