So... where does this stand atm?

I'm no fortune teller, but it's probably still being worked on, and the release date is later.

Still being worked on, things have been slow given H5 from our testers. Audio teams are still working on the custom soundtrack, SOI is working on fixing up some of the art assets, Sean is fixing some animations to work better at higher FOVs, and I am fixing bugs and working on things for Part 2.

What kinds of things for part 2, exactly?

You'll all see what we have in store for Part 2 at CE3. We have some cool things in the works for the Flood and Forerunner that put what the official games did to shame.

what upgrades? you gave them new sounds, new guns and shields

You'll likely find out at CE3, its a lot more extensive than that. Lots of custom ai, infections, enhancements on old forms, and new forms all together. Every species has an infected form.

We don't have shielded grunts, but yeah Jackals, Skirmishers, and Grunts all have infected forms now. Library has our new Forerunner forces as well as scattered Covenant squads also looking for the index.

That sounds pretty cool.

Ew ew ew. Well there is certainly some inspiration for the 343 stuff, but no, no knights, no crawlers, no watchers. And certainly no Wardens.

We want to embrace the fact they are robots, rather than pretend they aren't when they are, so can do things biological enemies can't.

I will also say forerunner based weapons have a new unique ammo system which is the perfect blend between human and covenant. You've never seen anything like it yet in CE or an official game which is really cool.
