It's not as cute and cuddly as h1 and h2 plush toy look, but not as gross as h3/reach. We aren't planning on drawing much from H4 for them as far as I know, but they currently are just modeled, not textured.

How about when you guys release these and when you guys are working on the rerelease of the released maps that you guys planned to recreate after the first wave of releases for community testing, you guys could show us a plasma rifle that is changed to like how Masternoob thought it should look because you guys are going to re-mess around with them anyway.

Lucky for him, all our work is open source and he can easily go in and fix it up himself for his own use if he doesn't like the way it looks when we release.

We've had this EXACT same debate over the plasma rifle (and cmt's acceptance of criticism) in the past. We all gotta learn that if you can't strike oil in one hole you need to relocate and drill again somewhere else.

I mean if we're gonna argue into another stalemate, we might as well do it over a new topic we haven't covered yet.

Also @Masterz,

You guys were considering a hammerburst spiker?! While I can think of a few reasons why that wouldn't have worked out, that's still a kick ass weapon idea.

I had it functioning fine, it just didn't play well with Halo's combat. With the setup on the BR, we can pretty do any burst fire weapon with whatever speed of burst and projectile bursts we want.

The grizzly uses a burst fire system for it's cannon so that when you fire the cannon the second projectile detonates after the first, allowing there to be more chain reaction explosions.

I've used a similar statement to get my girlfriend to do different things in bed but the point is the same.

It's one weapon tag, with 2 triggers. One trigger is for the cannon which has 2 rounds loaded, and then spew discharge like the BR. The other trigger is the chaingun.

Ah, that sounds good. I was never a big fan of the twin cannon layout the Halo Wars Grizzly used.

I really hate how this has become a crap storm. No more arguing, its pointless with no result except one side getting a ego boost. It doesn't matter what cmt does because its a mod, A MOD! Not a full fledged game, we earn no revenue. And with that both sides are allowed opinions, but if it just generates non nonsensical arguments, there's no point, at all. CMT should be allowed to do things as we please since we have no real obligation but to create a custom campaign experience we would like since we use our own time to create content. It be the same as with every other mod, you wouldn't want a bunch of people taking your project and forcing to do it the way that they want over every Little thing. Criticism is important, but there is a limit. Just blatantly trying to force something inst helping, you just turn into a control freak and a jerk.

Now I'm done with that I think that things are moving along nicely and well post updates a soon as we can.

Any one else trying to start more arguments or wars over crap, will be ignored.

I think CMT & co are missing the point with noobs posts (and jesus christ Masterz, you really look like a child in yours), as he is simply trying to give criticism and probably should be taken as he makes valid points. If you (CMT) don't like his crit, simply say "thanks" and walk away, there isn't much else to debate about it. Yelling at him because he thinks differently isn't doing any good, no matter how blunt he may have made his posts, and all it does his harm your own reputation.

I have to agree with Higuy. I have been watching this thread for updates via email notifications, and Masters, your behaviour and reaction towards your fans and criticism/suggestion has degraded and grown nasty. Calling someone a retard in this situation and insulting them like that is uncalled for. Refrain from it if you wish to keep your fanbase, or, you know, you can ignore this too. I like the CMT SPV projects, and the multiplayer maps, but if this continues, that will be the extent of it, and that will become questionable as well, seeing as your inability to take suggestions and criticism will lead to you/your team creating something no one will like. You like to appear mature and above it all, masters, but Higuy nailed it when he said you looked like a child. Locking your mind to differing opinions and criticism and suggestions and blindly hurling insults. You should search up the definition of retarded, and look at how noob posted. There isn't even a close correlation, and it was extremely hurtful and unnecessary. You can easily ignore the posts you dislike, or pm them, or even better, have a well mannered discussion over it, and come to an agreement or compromise. It takes no more energy than it did to insult noob, or tell everyone that you don't care about their suggestions.

He is not offering criticism, he is offering his OPINION which is he does not like the art style. I am open to criticism, I reflect and accept what ZombieKing stated about A10 because he actually offers well thought out criticism, and doesn't make it into a chest thumping post like Master Noob. Despite this, I AGREE with Master Noob that I am not a fan of the art style for the PR, but there is nothing wrong with the art it's self. I also admit that we are going to be making changes to it, and when I explain why nothing is going to be done with it, he offers a nonsense argument without fully reading what I said.


Perhaps retard was to harsh and idiot would have been more appropriate, apologies to anyone I offended with that. We often listen to peoples thoughts, crit and opinions, the first threads we post after a release are asking for feedback, and we try to make a habit of doing public betas whenever we can. However, there is a difference between that and someone trying to rub our noses and the dirt saying "I TOLD YOU SO" and ignoring anything we say, even when what we say addresses his opinion. We are not obligated to listen to any of you like Master Noob seems to think we are, yet we do respect and observe what people have to say and act on it.

You still don't get the point. If you have nothing good to say, don't say anything at all. Like I said, wether its his opinion or criticism that you don't agree with, simply ignore it and say thanks for the input. Starting a flame war in your own thread over it isn't good at all, makes you look stupid (ironically), and all you end up doing is starting unneeded drama.

I couldn't agree more with Higuy this time, I had much respect for Masterz and I saw him as a mature person. Even if Master Noob did not give that criticism you wanted, he still gave you his opinion regarding certain aspects of the PR. There's no need in insulting someone just because of a different opinion.In fact, this could even help you out (I'm not saying any of you are right about the PR ! ) as you can experiment with different things and see the result.

What Noob did was simply telling you that many others have the same opinion that he had long ago and back then, nobody listened to him. I really don't think this is a legitimate reason to call him a retard. As Higuy already said, you could have just ignored him if you didn't like that.

I have 0 problem with him having an opinion about our work or not delivering proper criticism, I am happy to ignore it. Every person has a right to have their own visual preferences or artistic taste.

I think he's an idiot for responding to my initial post with non sense and not having anything intelligent to say back to me when I explained why we do the things we do.
