Nothing in particular just yet. We've been tightening screws on various parts of spv3 a10-a50, and getting shaders and scenery objects in place for some new videos I want to do, but nothing really worth showing just yet. The goal is to have A10, A30, and A50 done by the end of the month, and then focus on b40 and pre production on part 2 of campaign until B30:E is completed.

As far as I know we haven't seen any gameplay of CMT's b40, so really we have almost no idea how that's going. Also, by "done," does this imply that a50's mantis encounter is completed or was that scrapped and I just seem to have missed it?

It's not really in a good place, lots of script failures and such going that create really weird things that randomly change, like the vehicle health system scripts failing, and at one point jacking a vehicle would teleport you to a location on the map outside the BSP. Kirby and I are fixing a few bugs in A10-A50 and then moving fully onto B40.

The mantis for A50 is currently removed, and will be making a re-appearance in it when we do the third wave of releases, which will include part 2 of campaign.

As always with Library, we aren't talking about Part 2 of campaign yet.

It's Masterz.. I'm sure if he adds space to the Maw like he did with POA in SPv2, there will be updated open areas in like a vehicle bay or something. That'd be sweet.

On a side note, How far along are y'all on another SPv3 release? I'm curious as playing TaR is starting to weigh a bit on me. Like percentage wise? er wait, are you going to be releasing an entire SPv3 campaign instead of singular levels at a time

I've never been a fan of levels where you only have one type of enemy to fight, the flood work best when used to mix up the game. It's not to say that we're not going to have any all flood fights, but I think a flaw with every game in the series is when they give you a grinding mission against flood with nothing to mix it up or surprise you. The exception being floodgate, as it was short and introduced lots of new things in it.

The plan for release is SPV3 about 6-8 weeks after B30:E. This is for several reasons, as assets needed in B30:E are more important than those for SPV3, and those need to be done to start the process of the lightmaping of the level. While B30 is being lightmapped and bugs are fixed, members will have time to turn attention to incomplete SPV3 exclusive assets. B30:E also needs to be completed before it's SPV3 version can be done, as when we do release, we want to do one map a week (so 5 weeks of non stop releases, although we've also toyed with the idea of doing a map every 2 weeks). In terms of assets that are SPV3 exclusive, we still need to finish the Grizzly, touch up the Focus Carbine, decide if we are just going to use a modified focus carbine for the Particle Carbine, an all new model, or simply recolor the Focus Carbine, which is what the gun currently is (right now the Particle Carbine is a "mod" of the Focus Carbine, much like the BPR and BPP are mods of their normal variant cannon wise), finish the Rocket Hog, and we have one weapon that we haven't revealed yet, which only exists in concept art right now and it's prototype currently uses the shotgun assets, as it has a very similar ammo system. I can say that this weapon certainly puts a twist on A50, which it sorely needs as I found our initial release to be quite stale in the interesting combat department.

While this does suck for those of you wanting to play it, the good news on this is it means we have more time to work on Part 2 of campaign before the Part 1 maps are out, so the gap between the release of SPV3 part 1 and part 2 should be significantly shorter. For part 2, we hope to have there be about a year between announcement and release, of course the longer Part 1 is done and waiting for art assets from B30:E, the shorter time you will have to wait after it's release for part 2.

Edit: It's CMT, we wouldn't be doing our job if we weren't trying to do things out of the ordinary in these levels. We can't please everyone with our changes, but if we're not taking chances and trying to do things we think that will surprise and delight people, we aren't doing our job or doing our fans over the past 10 years a service.

Edit 2: hmmmm..... CMT's 10 year anniversary is in about 9 months....

I've been looking forward to seeing a heavier tank in CE. However, I do have one suggestion in regards to the design: lose the second cannon. The disadvantages (you'd need double the ammo, double the turret space, double the loaders, increased weight, off-centered recoil leading to inferior accuracy, being inferior to simply using two seperate tanks, and inferior punch/use of space to simply using a single, larger cannon) that would come from such a configuration drastically outweigh the benefits (being able to fire two smaller shells than if it just had one bigger gun, but in quick succession), and it already has a higher caliber gun than the default Scorpion that should be perfectly capable of dealing with whatever we may encounter in-game. The Grizzly's concept art may be worth looking into.

After being missing from the community for such a long time, Masterz has invited me to watch a gameplay of b40. Of course, being an old friend of Masterz and being someone who casually checks in on CMT, I jumped on that offer. Now, the objective of CMT hasn’t changed throughout the years; to let us replay the Halo Campaign with more additions to it. The formula for CMT has always been to keep the main feel of Halo and to throw at us some new challenges and to change the story to what it should have been. This map is approx. 3 hours long for a gameplay (including the various times Masterz has died on the Legendary difficulty), and should be noted that in that 3 hours, there was not a single moment where I was not sucked into wanting more gameplay.

There are countless weapons to choose from to play in this level, ranging from the Assault Rifle to the new Covenant rifle, the amount of different weapon useless weapon combinations are endless. Each weapon serves a purpose and can easily be deadly in ideal situations. Usually in a Halo 1 play through, I usually have the combination of either the AR+Pistol or the Shotgun+Pistol seeing as they are pretty much the only useful weapons in the game. This mod brings the best out of weapons such as how the Brute plasma pistol can cause a deadly fire effect useful for taking out vehicles or large amounts of body. CMT definitely brought some new toys into the firefight this time with something similar to armor abilities. There are both passive (such as Halo 2 style health regeneration) and non-passive abilities such as sprinting. The mod definitely throws a curve ball at you when you encounter some really pissed off Hunters (with new animations and attacks). Favorite sequence was when Masterz walked into an area with grunts and elites only to be spotted; he quickly dispatched of them with his dmr before they could reach the ghost. Then as he proceeded to move turn left up the hill, you can see jackal shields everywhere. A red eerie light started to flare up, only to realize it was a sniper jackal scoping onto you. Every one is deadly. The map was intended to be completed in 3 hours, which does seem to be a bit too long for a single mission, however; I do believe that this choice was well made, as there never was a dull moment in the mod.

The graphics here are amazing. I have yet to see another use of Sauce to produce such high quality of work. Brush aside the placeholder models, and what you have are completely redesigned bipeds, beautifully crafted weapons and sequences of animations that appear to be ready to be sold in its own retail game. The quality of shaders enhances the models exponentially as they rival even the quality of Halo 3 shaders.

I would definitely replay this mod several times easily. It’s very easy to fall in love with the covenant weapons, especially since some of them do have conveniently placed recharge stations across the whole mission. As you progress through this level, you might want to pick up some of the brute’s cluster bombs and wreck havoc in small areas. I cannot emphasize enough how every weapon is effective. It does what couldn’t be done in Halo 1 and makes every weapon both appealing to the user and actually give them a purpose.

This mod has blown my mind with what the Halo engine can truly do. I can’t pick a favorite between the aesthetics, gameplay or the animations of the mod. I’ll be the first to admit that SPV2 was just Halo 1 with tags thrown together. This mod however will change the way you play. If you play aggressively and tend to burn through ammo quickly, try switching to a brute plasma pistol as they can be recharged. You love killing the enemies with their own weapons? Then grab the sprint ability and run up to wraith, hi-jack it, and use it to destroy every single living thing around you. My favorite ability is just the simple camouflage, great to use to flank the enemies or to sneak up to a ghost and hi-jack it. I look forward to getting my hands onto this mod and wrecking havoc against the Covenant and Flood (occasionally my own Marines).

How the hell can CMT fit a slue of new weapons, armor abilities, 2 new enemy types, however many new scenery tags you guys have added, and a bunch of vehicles into a single campaign mission? The tag slot monster should've carried you guys into oblivion for even attempting this!

I find it hard to believe there's any amount of optimization that could allow all these tags to fit into one map, even with OS. I'm callin hacks (other than the obvious OS)
