Are you guys going to change the SMG melee animation. It doesn't look realistic, i don't like it.

This game is not BF3 so its not realistic....

FTFY.

(Yes, I'm a COD hater. I'm not a BF fan though, just a COD hater. :P)

You know, hating something popular doesn't automatically make you cool. It makes you a cynic.

When did I say it makes me cool? I just hate COD because it's a terrible game. Not really a terrible game because of the gameplay it has, but because the creators boast that it has entirely different gameplay to what it actually has. They make it seem like it's supposed to be a realistic war first person shooter, when in actual reality it's a very unrealistic first person shooter that contains a bunch of stupid gimicks.

Anyway, not really related to CMT...

Hell, BF3 isn't realistic.

Out of all the games you listed though, its the most realistic in terms of gameplay. If you actually work together with your squad and play legitimately you can deal and intense amount of damage in the game compared to those who dont play it realistically.

You know what....Just so there are no hard feelings.... I'm sorry. Hope you guys can forgive me. But what i was trying to say was the smg melee just doesn't look like it really fits in so if you guys could fix it.

"Fixing things" implies that there's a bug affecting the overall game experience. Just because you don't like the melee doesn't mean that it's a bug that has to be "fixed". Some people may like it, some people may not, but asking for a reanimation of a melee based on the style is ridiculous ._.

Exactly.

P3, you should take up FP animating to see how much of an achievement this really is.

That, my squirrel overlord, is where you are wrong.

Arma II is the most realistic of them all. Have you ever played it?

I've heard this countless times, and frankly I just won't do anything about it.

There's people like you who don't like it, and then there's other people who believe it to be a great and unique melee animation (of which I am one of, since I made the bloody animation).

In the end I say this: it's a mod, and as much as I wanted to stay true to some Halo roots in my animations, I wanted to do something more unique and so I did.

Back in the day when Bono looked like a Badass.
But honest to god favorite U2 would be Beautiful Day or City of Blinding Lights.
Speaking of CMT!

We already knew Skidrow.

Pretty good that it's released on Halomaps now though. Fortunately I got rapidshare(Or whatever it was. I have a terrible memory) to work, but I'm sure the more secure mirror will help a lot of people. :)

I had to play the .map file (because I'm pretty sure my laptop would explode if it tried the full version, it's a pathetic excuse for a computer). There isn't that much I can criticize, except a few faint outlines on the HUD that were out of place (such as a second circle for the radar slightly to the side), and a spot on the second encounter where an elite spawned inside a rock.

Also, when I turned dynamic lighting off my flashlight wouldn't illuminate the terrain. It would work on the bushes and rocks, but for the ground and walls it would do nothing. Combined with the fact that it's a lot darker than the first, it was much harder to navigate the level until I re-enabled dynamic lighting.

It seems as if 343i has been trying to re-model more of the original weapons to size down more into modern weapons. I mean, with the "actual" weaponary sounds, they obviously need to break it down more into a compact weapon, which states it's sound, (No one I bet got that). I have no deal with 343i making modern weapon sounds for weapons that are 550 years in the future. Anyways, CMT has done a great job modeling and texturing the weapons, and making the enemy counter-parts as original as they could have. I like how they are using a engine that no one would have done before, they are reaching for a tower-high goal, and I swear they will get there. Good job, CMT. Keep up the good work!

I have a question for CMT. Out of all the many things you weeved into SPV3, what is the largest challenge to face other than modeling, loading, and us?

Well, it's been around a month since the release and, as promised, here are some things for everyone.

First: Some fun updated material particle effects by Ifafudafi!
Second: It's fun-time hud-time again!
Third: (see below)

We are not quite ready to give a big formal update on what's coming next but that will probably happen soon enough. Until then...

Quote:
These are some assorted Open Sauce-related goodies that are being released by CMT!

Specifically, these are various tags & other files that were used in the SPv3 A50 release to take advantage of Open Sauce's features. Just paste the contents of this archive into your HCE folder and you should be good-to-go. However, there is some kind of advanced stuff in here so I am assuming that you know what you're doing with the HEK. If you don't, get ready to learn.

It should also be noted that the things contained here are designed for SINGLE-PLAYER-USE ONLY, especially things like the VISR, single-shot-toggling BR and CMT Extras menus. Don't try to use this stuff in MP unless you know exactly what you're doing or you will run into nightmare problems.

---------------------------------------

Here's what's inside:

-All tags and source-files related to CMT Extras
--This includes the .hsc files used for the scenario
---Of special note, "globals_spv3.hsc" contains the scripting logic for the ingame VISR, the Single-shot-toggling BR, and the other CMT Extras things
--This includes all the VISR-related tags that we made or edited
---And the HLSL .fx source file for the mod's custom VISR shader
--This also includes the UI widgets used for the CMT Extras menu (read a little bit down for instructions on enabling this)

-The .hsc file for the A50 scenario itself (Open Sauce-only version, though there's only like one line that needs to be removed to make it non-os compatible)
--Gaze and marvel at properly-formatted HSC code, dozens of commented-out lines and the terrible hacks we used for this project

-The .project_yelo (and related files) used for the A50 scenario
--This includes all the setups necessary to get a map building with the VISR effect if you're lazy and don't want to do it yourself
--But be warned! This also includes the map's bloom settings so you may wish to go in yourself and configure that as you wish.

-A rough definition file for Notepad++ of Halo's scripting language (found in the \data\ folder; just import the .xml as with any other user-defined language)
--This makes scripts way easier to read if you use Notepad++ since syntax stuff will be highlighted and colored!
--The file doesn't have an exhaustive list of HCE's global variables and other minor things; if it's not in hs_doc.txt or the Halo Scripting Bible it's not in there but it was good enough for us

-A few example shader_model tags that use Open Sauce's shader extensions
--These WILL NOT be valid tags unless you're using Open Sauce
--These are only shaders, not bitmaps (see immediately below)

-The HEK+ password to un-protect the A50 release .map and .yelo so you can put our tags into Bloodgulch and Halo Trial like a pro modkid (or just learn from them who cares)
--.map file's password: "goodiez4meandu"
--.yelo file's password: "keyesman00"

NOTE 1: The passwords only work on the updated release's files, so if you downloaded before the release was up on Halomaps.org, redownload or the passwords won't work.

NOTE 2: HEK+ doesn't like to extract tags correctly that have Open Sauce additions (or are completely unique to Open Sauce) so use care with that. Shader_model tags probably won't extract correctly. You might have to re-make some of them yourself, boo hoo. Anything else of interest should be contained in this archive.

NOTE 3: A few things in the tags contained in this archive may depend on some tags not provided here; using the above passwords you should be able to extract anything you need from the released maps (or you can just fix the references yourself).

---------------------------------------

TO ENABLE THE CMT EXTRAS MENU:

1) Open Guerilla.
2) Open the tag "ui\shell\solo_game\pause_game\pause_game.ui_widget_definition"
3) Scroll down to the "child widgets" section
4) Select the element labeled "pause_list"
5) Re-reference that tag to "cmt\ui\shell\solo_game\pause_game\pause_list"
6) Save! You're done!

There is some unused stuff in the CMT pause menu folders; some is useful and some is not. If you're feeling adventurous you can poke around there.

---------------------------------------

That's it! Have fun and maybe learn something about this terrible game.

~CMT
