Hey guys, a few of you have been asking about the UI I've been working on.
Here's a little sneek peek at what's going into this.





All the pictures for the Classic Campaign and Multiplayer have been redone for a clean, larger size.
Other singleplayer maps, such as firefight, are getting their own images and descriptions as well.
I'm hoping to make this much more smooth, inclusive, and consistent than my previous project.

I see you have a light in the center of the Halo, if you're keeping it I would suggest making it look something like one of these.

HK MK23 I started working on a long time ago but never took the time to finish until now.


Need to tone down the grime on the grip but I think its getting there.

The mesh is sitting at about 3600 triangles.

In the maps section of the material, click the reflection slot.
Add a reflect/refract material.
Add your cubemap.

To render out 6 images for making a cubemap you just add a cube to where you want the shot taken from.
Apply the reflect refract material.
Select the something from file check box.
Select where to save it.
Hit the select object and render button at bottom and click on the cube.
You can not cancel these renders so start small :)

I'll have to reupload the file later today; I think it's saved on a USB.
also, making a cubemap is as easy as making random shapes and rendering using 3ds max mental ray's 360 degree camera shader. I'll upload some 3ds max files for that too.

Realtime shaders are probably the easiest because you can have live feedback.

If you look at the Mk-23 I posted above, I used a reflection mask in the alpha of the diffuse to reflect a cubemap on the slide of the gun.

Because he is generally abrasive and idiotic, its a habit. Either way, fix the shaders.

I noticed that too, but I personally think it looks better. The black visor (not the faceplate, the visor) offers much-needed contrast, you know?
