Something that I'm attempting to do for a map:

This is my first legit animation.

It looks good; but it's too fast as of now. Keep it up though.

As previosuly said, it's a bit fast. And it stops too suddenly. It isn't hitting a solid surface, it should have a slower deceleration. Try to smoothen the animation up overall.

It's still decent though. Just fix it up and it'll be great!

It doesn't have to be Halo concept. Just FOR Halo.

Have perpendicular and parallel be at an even distance from each other, parallel being higher. Objects in the real world have a Fresnel effect as a reflection is farther and farther away from you. Parallel being naturally closer to you. If parallel brightness is say 0.5, then have perpendicular be 0.3 or 0.4.

I already told him that it never looks good if you have more than .4 of a difference between the 2 reflection brightness's.

Another attempt at animation, this one is an enter animation for a pelican.
I have already made the anims for hovering and exit (x2) as well.

The 180 turn before the troop drop off doesn't really fit with the pelican. Usually, pelicans begin hovering before turning. Other than that, it's pretty nice.

I agree.
You could go past the drop zone a bit and turn around and return to make the drop.

It would be cool, for the first maybe 3 rounds. Then it would get old, going back and forth. Plus, why would humans do that? They would just stay in the ship and kill shiz. Plus, the original idea behind my map, the CORE reason for its existence, is to have a firefight map with a custom bsp built only for it. Including covie ship interior would defeat this, and would only have the bsp that I spent weeks making played only half the time...

Thank's Hydro

Hey guys, it's been a little while, but I thought I'd let you guys know that Firefight-Descent is still being developed, and is getting changes and additions done almost daily.
Here's a little pic to keep you guys occupied:

Have a nice day!

Nope, just the decals. The old ones produced too much lag.

the visor looks like it's a bit close to where his face would be there. Were you going for that or did you mean to expand the visor area out a little more?

I guess it could use some extrudes to look more spartany. Maybe more hatlike on the top, like in the back or front, like Halo 1's spartan.

I like that biped alot, but could you maybe use a different particle bitmap besides that overused electricity one in that image?

I see it in most mods with electricity in particle systems...

The actual proportions look off. Do some research into skulls ect so you can get the correct shape.

Also, id suggest adding more triangles to the curved areas, maybe add more details to the back of the helmet as at the moment it looks really plain. Looks good though :)

It's the right size for a human head without a helmet. Just my opinion though.
