Hopefully. But a bloodgulch mod isn't a fitting map for a pelican, and it's a bit less than an origional idea.

How about Death Island?

Yeah, I'm going to try to make a BSP. I'm actually not that bad at modeling, but I could never make it past tool.

BSPs are easy to make, but THEY TAKE SO DAMN LONG in this engine. The engine goes by the concept of a closed world and although it makes sense for the playable area, simply welding together an enclosed space is a waste of 30 to 60 minutes of my time. Just saying.

As long as you do not leave any open edges (which are bad in any game) you can model your map however you want and create a separate box of geometry for the sky. That way you don't have to make it enclosed.

Yeah well, I tried again and there are an uncountable amount of couldn't update edge. But don't let my bsp incompetence derail this superslow thread.

edit
Spartan, I disagree. I could easily fix a handfull of open edge errors, and I'm only unable because It would take somewhere around a month or two to fix the open edges I got, and even worse with my schedule.

Exactly. Open edges cause glitchy errors that can allow people to go through the bsp when pushed through the game with enough force.

If somebody fixes that horrible-looking square turret, that Halo 4 warthog would look really cool in a new ctf map, that is if you use OS. :)

Would look especially cool if somebody ever bothered to remake Extinction with OS, and remade the bsp model... (If I can ever be bothered, I'll learn how to make maps, but until then, suggestion's open :P).

Id like to put this in game but I'm not sure to have skills/time to make a lowpoly and bake...

+ It would need a brand new physics system and animations, however this could become a warthog with way more realistic physics and properties

I've seen a lot of halo 3 vehicles with bad shaders, but I think I've done a pretty good job so far.

Edit: Notice how the Spare Treads move like the treads under the scorpion..lol

Ptowery, mkight I suggest ti make the edges smoother. For some bits, they seemed jagged. Also, fix the interior.

What do you mean? The treads on top of the tank don't look like they're moving...unless it's because it's not a GIF image, I dunno :\

Edited by ptowery on Mar 3, 2012 at 01:31 PM

With the turret, is it possible to limit it's rotation field so that it won't shoot through the main cannon? lol

The hatch is fixed

Yea you can make the turret limit rotation but it doesnt work yet ATM it just acts as another side seat .

When the tank moves all the tread textures move. I can fix

Sorry for my, over due late reply. It's a hybird. Of course of multiple planets, and the ever growing human population, it is less reliable to focus on just one energy source. After 550 years, I believe we should have developed a more, advanced system to opperate even a single sportscar. Anyways, the Scorpion was done very well! Although you would not be able to get every knot right in the tank's design, you might be one of the first to make a compelling vehicle over-lap. The only knot your not able to fix is the seperate turrent.

Not exactly a Scorpion, but meh.

i got open sauce working, turns out it was my video card. i bought a new ati hd 4650 and that made everything work. my first project is the kodiak dropship from mass effect 2. i just barely finished rigging the model and converting the bitmaps. the bump is kinda weak right now, what would be a good coefficient to use?

Mass Effect vehicles look horrible, such a nasty design. Looks like a decent port though. I played the demo of Mass Effect 3, first oneb I had played and damn, it's such a badly designed game. It's horrible, i physically couldn't play anymore of it after 10 minutes.

Voice actors are also terrible.

thanks for the links :)

my opinion of mass effect, its not too bad of a game, it does have great story though. i love the aliens in it, the weapons are incredible, and the vehicles are pretty dang boxy XD

Only when there's no Halo to play :D

No. Not even.
While Halo 3 is currently my favorite game of all time, Mass Effect is probably hands down my favorite series of all time.
Possibly followed by Halo, then Gears of War.
And so on.

I liked alot of Mass Effect's designs, although the game could use some more colorful environments rather than the generic sci-fi setting mostly seen.

Gameplay was also fun imo, and had a good balance between exploring buildings/structures and the fun cover-to-cover gameplay. Having a biotic in your squad also opened up alot of creative ways to take down enemies :)

Story wise it's my favorite sci-fi game of all time, beating Halo. Even if the ending itself wasn't delivered with as much effort as the rest, I still liked the actual choices and story.

That's because of...

The Curse Of The Reach Pelican!

Anyone who tries to make it just suddenly loses the will to keep on working and turns lazy.
There are... worse... effects for those who 'commit' to their work...

Just kidding, I'd love to see a decent Reach pelican finally finished and taken in-game.

Or am I really kidding? Dun dun dun! Find out next time on... The Pointless Irrelevant Non-Existant Curses That Didn't Even Need To Be Mentioned When All I Had to Really Say Was 'I'd love to see a decent Reach pelican finally finished and taken-ingame' But Nevermind SHOW!
