I have better ideas for it... Just need to get it ingame.

I fixed the creeper's uvws on the head. That's as close as I could get it to the real thing...

The neck and other parts of the body is killing me... But I'm not doing any more.... till I can find a quick rigging tutorial for compiling in Halo.

dig straight down. build an underground shelter. make caverns on 2 levels near the bottom spaced by 2 blocks.

slooowly getting there. basic IKs set up on hands, feet and tail. face is rigged also.. still need to learn a few tricks

need to figure out how to apply a mirror modifier without fubaring the rig, get a better skin, and fix some issues with the foot bones

once that's done I get to start freaking animating this guy. gotta learn blender's animating system without ripping my teeth out of my ass. can't wait for my camera tripod to get here so I can get some animation references

it's possible I'll be porting it in, but don't get your hopes up. I'm not fond of the "once it's in the engine it's Microsoft's" bullcrap and this character design doesn't belong to me, so I feel as if I can't be the one making those types of calls.

blender can export to 3ds, obj, dae, bvh and mdd, and more with scripting or plug-ins

the program is completely open source so if users really wanted to they could make it just as compatible as 3ds for halo crap. unfortunately all the halo modders wants to be "omg juzt liek bungiee" so they're using ancient, mostly pirated versions of max

oh man that was clever, you should be proud. big pat on the back. man, dissing freely distributed, completely customizable, open source software that's more than capable of creating many of the user-made assets that are generally shown on this site is the way to go

This isn't a thread about the legitimacy of people's 3ds max, is it? And Dennis discourages talk of piracy and stuff.
I'm pretty sure we were talking about someone having a fake reach elite WIP, but the community would enjoy discussing elite bipeds in general even more.

It is not done yet lol, it still needs some good textures and hopefully it won't look as cartoonish.


if I actually decide to recreate this character later down the line, it will be more high poly with sculpted/baked normal maps. however, the style of the textures will remain roughly the same to match art style of the character's creator

are you serious? I answered this question in the following post. oh, unless you're vaguely trying to attack the originality of the creator's character design

in any case, this model is for the most part finished, and rigged properly. all of the issues I was having earlier have been resolved. now, I just need to start learning blender's animation system, and will hopefully have a decent enough walk cycle soon... gonna be my first shot at full character animation

first shot at facial animation. extremely sketchy, not at all refined. going to study more about full-body animations before I try a run cycle

definitely brings to light a few problems with the mesh that I'll have to get back to at some point. uvs on the eyelids are pretty terrible and I need to get the seams out of the texture, smoothing problem on the beak..

Yes, you totally need to explain what a necromorph is with THREE youtube videos. A single picture would have done better.

And that dionsaur totally looks sad because it's eye sockets happen to be shaped that way.
