Slappy's crit, not Maniac's I was already laughing at the wireframe picture, but then I saw Slappy's crit on the picture and I lost it and I hadn't yet swallowed my mouthful.  This is a common occurance for me btw. I had this same type of episode when I was drinking mtn dew and watching Kung Pow. I swear that stuff will be the death of me but IT'S SO GOOD!!!!!

Crit? Old knife is old, originally made it a few months ago for Eliteslasher as a throwing knife. i might just animate it and tag it. Not unwrapped (idk how) Model is a stunning 1900 polies :p But yeah. If Leet still wants it, just hmu on xfire or fb brahh

is that the triangle count? or poly count? they are two different things, poly count could easily be half of the triangle count, you should also show the triangle count.
For a throwing knife which will be flying into someones head and not seen stopped it should only be like 100 triangles max, there is no need for more than that. Heck, it could be 2 triangles as a flat plane with a texture on and alpha channel.
for a FP view on it, then I would still say something low like 200 - 300 triangles, IF that. You have a random indent going round the middle of the sides... it's pointless and would not be seen in-game. You have also tried to make the edges smooth by chamfering them, but there are faces on the chamfered edge which are almost verticle which makes them pointless. They should be slanted to contribute towards the curve.
That said, the curve is pointless as it's such a small object. It could be easily faked on the diffuse.
