I over-exaggerated the posing animation, but I'm too lazy to fix it at the moment. I'll probably do a complete redo. Did these anims to replace my old M6C animations. I also want my own animation set covering every single weapon, and I thought I'd start off with this. I'll probably do the assault rifle next.

IDK, for the melee animation i sort of like it better for some reason when it swipes across a little. It seems like that would hurt more than getting bashed straight on. What I would like to see for a pistol melee animation is a full body swipe from left to right like as if you were backhanding someone's face. Handle butt first of course.

i dont know why you always put the slide to return on the fire animation so slowley. you dont have to set the frame at the end of the animation you know, it would be best to make it return 2 or 3 frames after the slide goes back. also fix the speeding up at the end of the reload animation and get a new rig. halo 1s rig is ugly.

I like the slide that way. I timed it so it doesn't start as soon as you pull the trigger, and so it's mis-matched. Which animation has speeding? And you're ugly :V

It's still slow. If you've ever fired a pistol, or even seen one, you can see the slide's movement is very quick, probably about half a second elapses between the time the trigger is pulled and when the slide returns to its original position.

If you're going to copy Halo 3's animations, at least use the Halo 3 rig for Christ's sake.
Or at least put the MPv2 skin on those Halo 1 arms ._.
And get some decent lighting or ambient lighting in there, your whole left side is completely black.

Aside from that, they look pretty good. During the reload, have the pinky be outstretched, as of right now it's just barely resting on the gun, which doesn't exactly look good. Melee's hit needs to be higher up, and you really could do with slowing the posing down and making it look like an actual posing animation, and not like, a quick chamber of a round (which is not needed, at all).

But thanks for the crit. I kinda suck at doing melee animations, and usually have to redo them over and over. I guess I have to do it over again ._.

2. That is not at all how you model a weapon. Look up the baretta 9000 tutorial.
3. How can you improve? Well, first off, delete the weapon, then refer to # 2.

When I get farther along I will post more, and the texture needs work =P

The model will have more detail when done, might redo the entire thing.

I have used the Barrett tutorial a lot for this actually, and the handle needs a lot of work, the barrel is too long, the scope is not finish, the front is blocky, and the back end is a single shape.

The texture is used to show how easily it can be manipulated into a more realistic model, but that's for my benefit.

This is, I think, the first gun I have done, if not, in a very long time.


Also, the bolt is on the wrong side, gonna mirror the model and get back to work, but I am off to bed.

If that's what you call plane modeling, then that is absolutely wrong. It would benefit you more to leave the textures on one plane, and model over that.

might have it jsut instead of pump, make it so that if u hold the trigger u move the front half forward so it more accurate and more powerful :P

Nice, I need to get some more weapons practice in, and trust me, its easiest the way I am doing it XD for me atleast.

well i did the render on school pc(got to room with 3dsmax 2010 on them) but couldn't go higher quality as the pc's die very easily.... and i guess it fires plasma or something...i dunno yet :P

You are block modeling your stuff way to much. Get away from bulky detail, and do more slimmer and smaller details.
