damn.. okay.. now i have to find which one's cheapest :P thanks anyway
hiya i posted here before detailing facts about my PC and how Ce was in some sort of mega safe mode.
i accepted the answer of that i needed a new computer. i don't. i figured out that my video card is unsupported.
so, i have a VIA/S3G UniChromeII Graphics driver version 6.14.10.103 two things i want to know
will updating the driver to the most recent version fix the problem? if so, please give me a link to the newer driver, i've been looking for it an can't find it
also, if updating the driver would in fact do nothing... is there any other alternative which involves me not buying a new one?
it isn't really my computer so ican't do anything too amazing. how do i tell if it has a PCI express slot?
i'm hoping mum will crack and buy a new one.
wait.. if it works in safemode, that means it somehow downgrades the game so that i can play it without it glitching like that, doesn't that mean if i disable the right things, i could have sound and chat? Edited by protozero156 on Apr 12, 2009 at 09:11 PM
damn =( , thanks for helping anyway, now i at least know WHY it won't play.
if that's the best, i don't think it worked Edited by protozero156 on Apr 12, 2009 at 03:43 AM
i can play it fine in safemode, just without it looks like that
hi, i have to run halo in safemode, because my computer is old and bad. i had a different orum like this, which ended in the person saying that there isn't any sound because my computer is old (he reckoned safemode doesn't disable sound). but when i played it without safemode, it had sound, meaning my computer isn't as bad as it seemed. i really want to have sound, chat would also be nice, but not essential. i don't really care at all what else get's disabled
to me, it looks like something to do with layering.
this is what my halo looks like without safemode: but it doesn't stay like that, it flickers really fast between that and what it's supposed to look like.
thanks in advance =) Edited by protozero156 on Apr 12, 2009 at 03:22 AM
just though i might add proof of my bad computer

blah, that's lame, stupid old computer, i guess i'll have to try and get a better graphics card, thanks anyway
no yellow '!'s and i tried updating the driver after i knew where it was anyway and it didn't work
i'm not really a tech wiz... how do i do that exactly?
nup, i haven't got anything down saying -nosound .... unless there's a different way to what i'm doing.. i'm going into the shortcut's properties and putting in -safemode... also, i'd buy a new graphics card but i don't have much money Edited by protozero156 on Jan 28, 2009 at 05:47 AM
i have been playing halo custom for a while now in safemode, but it's really annoying having no sound, my friend told me if safemode makes it works, you can make it work outside of safemode too. can someone help? i really dont care whats disabled as long as i can get sound. my graphics card is : VIA / S3G UniChrome Pro IGP yeah, my computer's old
