do you have console enabled? the -exec parameter wont work without console
if it is, executing "mouse_acceleration" should return 0.0000000 Edited by Zetren on Jan 24, 2015 at 01:29 PM
Yeah, I have that enabled as well
Yes, it is.
Quote: --- Original message by: Zetren It does, Btcc22 said so. Btcc22 is God. Do not question his technical knowledge of Halo PC/CE.
Also I tried myself and yeah, placebo affect notwithstanding it does indeed make a subtle difference when moving the mouse really fast Edited by Zetren on Jan 24, 2015 at 12:53 PM
I think I did everything right, but I'm really not having much luck with that.
I did it completely objectively, since I placed my mouse right up against a solid object, then slowly moved it away, then quickly pulled it back up against the solid object. Alas, I am still facing 90 degrees too far from where I should be, so there definitely is still accel on there
Quote: --- Original message by: FrostyCyphreOP might want this for all games.
Thanks, but already done it a long time ago. Don't do anything for halo though
Quote: --- Original message by: ZetrenMy guide has some steps pertaining to the reduction of mouse lag http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/3066503/0/0/0/0Turn off mouse acceleration in windows setting and set mouse speed to 6th notch out of 11 One thing I omitted was the -exec "int.ini" command. To disable halo's mouse acceleration, follow post #6 here follow post #6 here other useful startup command include: fov x about (get's HAC 2's installed version) cls (clears the screen of code) multiplayer_hit_sound_volume 1 (makes your hit reg sound much louder in halo ce) Downsampling AND FXAA together is OVERKILL and unnecssary, no wonder your fps is crap. Use one or the other, FXAA looks good with almost zero fps hit whereas downsampling looks best with dire fps hit. I'd say use FXAA, as you're missing out on some bloom and shiny stuff by turning off OS's settings. Edited by Zetren on Jan 24, 2015 at 12:43 PM
OK thanks bro. Does the accel fix really work? I'm gonna come back and kiss your a$$ if it does hahaha :)
Quote: --- Original message by: FrostyCyphre And you just reminded me to finish an OP of a thread dedicated to downsampled Halo CE bullshots.
To be honest, I was a little annoyed halo not compatible with 4x4 SSAA at driver level. The game must use deferred rendering? I couldn't find a driver bit. It's a shame. But downsampling from this res is equivalent to 2x2 SSAA and with DSR we can now run that at high refresh without ghetto downsampling at custom resolutions, so it's still pretty good. Quote: --- Original message by: ZetrenWhat refresh rate is your monitor? If it's 60hz then ~110fps is perfectly acceptable and does not warrent disabling open sauce's graphics effects. Also, make sure you're playing this version of the custom edition campaign port: http://forum.halomaps.org/index.cfm%3Fpage=topic&topicID=47079austen1000 has done a great job updating the old port. 144hz. I play at 120 fps capped in 144hz mode with G-sync. It was dropping down into the 80s at times without that -no_os_gfx command. It's not really the visual frame rate that bothers me, it's the laggy feel from the mouse when the frame rate drops. I know 60 fps is good, but once you 'feel' higher frame rates, you don't want to go back. I am running 3840x2160 downsampled with FXAA, so that's why the frame rate was dropping a little on a GTX 780.
Thanks for that link to that campaign port btw, I'll look into it now.
Oh, also I didn't realize there were any graphical differences on the campaign maps I was playing, when using the command... I was pretty much happy with the fov, hud aspect and weapons movement differences. But if there's nicer graphics with open sauce, I'd like to cap the frame rate a little lower and play with that too I suppose Edited by fenderjaguar on Jan 24, 2015 at 12:32 PM
Quote: --- Original message by: sparky Does this mean that Windows XP is free, just because it is discontinued? Look how many updates that old software received every week! You still see Microsoft selling things they can, regardless of whether they want to support those things.
Yeah, but I think MS stopped selling XP long before they stopped making updates for it. You might still be able to buy new old stock OEM keys for XP on ebay. But with the Halo combat evolved CD, it seems to be still being rolled off the production line.
I wish they would just wrap everything up in one package and put custom edition on steam, then charge $10 for it or whatever
Quote: --- Original message by: Spartan314 I've got a 740M (2 Gbs GPU mem), so I'm thinking DX12 support might be a stretch. :(
Well it's a pretty weak GPU, but it will definitely support DX12, as they've already said everything post fermi will support it. DX12 is more about reducing CPU driver overhead etc anway...

Yes, it is just like nvidia shield, where you need proper gaming PC to stream to it.
See, to me, it isn't clear whether that means we can use windows 10 for a year before it deactivates and we then have to pay? Or do they mean we can upgrade only for a year? What if we want to clean install win 10 after 4 years, will we be able to simply install 7/8/8.1 then 'upgrade' again? Sounds like this will be a real headache...
Quote: --- Original message by: FrostyCyphreIt won't give you the "enhanced" graphics in maps that were compiled with Open-Sauce.
OIC. Well thanks again my friend.
Quote: --- Original message by: FrostyCyphre Installing Open-Sauce 3.1 will reduce your frame rate unless you use this command "no_os_gfx".
Thanks! it works! What does this command do?

May I just ask is it normal for the frame rate of custom edition is lower than the regular version of the game?
