So, I'm looking into replacing the campaign's music with music from more recent halo games, and upon downloading some .dll updates for ogg vorbis encoding i can now successfully convert wav files. Tool doesn't like stereo wav files, yet all the original music from the maps are stereo. Don't suppose there is any way around this? http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL7LsJ1aA5Lv0caS961zlX8WvB-S1YkazA
1. Halo: Combat Evolved 2. Halo 2 3. Halo 3: ODST 4. Halo 3 5. Halo: Reach 98. Halo 4
Halo: CE has one of the best game soundtracks of all time. Halo 2 was another great soundtrack, though not nearly on par with the first game's. Unfortunately every single flippin Halo related video on the net has bloody 'Blow Me Away' or 'MJONLIR Mix'. Halo 3 I felt was just recycling all of Halo: CE's music and its new additions were mediocre. ODST was a very consistent soundtrack, considering it was an ambitious step away from the trilogy's mood. Reach again was a different feel, but had its stand-out orchestral tracks. While Neil Davidge produced the odd quality track, such as 'Requiem', 'Mantis (not on OST)' and '117', the rest of the soundtrack was poorly written and over-emphasised on electronic and over-produced sound. As for 'Arrival', my greatest fear for the franchise's music was finally realised: Am F C G (or very close too it), the crap you get on sports inspirational videos.
On the subject on Halo soundtracks... I thought that the music from some of the more recent Halo games would fit really well in some scenarios from the first game. So I decided to screen capture segments of the campaign without music and edit-in newer music. http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL7LsJ1aA5Lv0caS961zlX8WvB-S1YkazA
Hey guys, I thought that the music from some of the more recent Halo games would fit really well in some scenarios from the first game. So I decided to screen capture segments of the campaign without music and edit-in newer music. Here is a playlist of some of the segments I have done so far:

The music you hear in these videos is not actually in the game while I play, (I have definitely not worked out how to do that yet), I have simply edited it in using Sony Vegas. Unfortunately, my ideas so far are limited to gameplay segments, because while setting the music volume to 0 mutes music in gameplay, music still plays in cutscenes (understandably). Anyone who has any idea how to do this please message me, because half of my ideas for these segments are in fact cutscenes.
I just thought you guys might be interested in these videos. Also the ultimate end goal is to have to have this music play in-game, however my modding ability is limited and/or does not exist. Tell me what you think! Edited by keygenftw on Oct 14, 2012 at 12:38 AM
okay, but where do i type this??????
okay that helps, so i want to place a sound_looping file as the music for the opening cutscene and gameplay for b30, and i think the trigger volume for the start of the level is 'beach1', but how do i apply a script to the level?
sorry to be a noob but could i please have step by step instructions on how to do that? thanks

Okay, so after a bit of messing around, I was able to convert my wav's into .sounds and then into .sound_looping with appropriate looping points. Now, I would like to place into certain points within the campaign. I assume this will involve Sapien, and that crashes whenever I try to open a campaign .scenario. So yeah. Any level of instruction appreciated (detailed instructions preffered)

Here's an example of what I have done so far: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSxx1S3B3lo&feature=youtu.be Unfortunately, my ideas so far are limited to gameplay segments, because while setting the music volume to 0 mutes music in gameplay, music still plays in cutscenes (understandably). Anyone who knows how to even delete all music from the level, your help would be much appreciated. Thanks Long term I would like to look at even placing the music in the actual game, but from what I have seen, this would be a massive undertaking. Any help or advice appreciated.
i suppose the whole ai sync is the major thing that stops it then... thats fair enough. thanks for the help guys
So, what physically separates a single player .map, and a multiplayer .map? disclaimer: i don't even know how to make maps. is it possible to extract the tags and place them into a multiplayer .map? basically its possible to put AI into a multiplayer map, so why not copy the campaign ai etc. into a 'multiplayer' .map for co-op? i suppose i'm going to get hammered for posting this. just a thought...
i need weapon sounds / dialog etc. but no music
EDIT: BUMP. i need answers! i ideally need to do this before anniversary is released! Edited by keygenftw on Jul 20, 2011 at 07:17 AM
Hey guys, been searching for this for some time now. i'm gonna put new music in the campaign from more recent halo games. actually modding the campaign and putting it in game is a major ceebs, so i just need to walkthrough the campaign without music and upload it to yt. setting music volume to 0 in settings does not mute the music in cutscenes. i need to be able to mute it. any help appreciated. thanks.
the question was more aimed at weather the illegal windows was the problem or not, and whether anyone else had the problem. is 1280x720 the maximum reso?
Hey guys, a problem that I've had the whole time I've had Halo 2 Vista. My MacBook with Bootcamp running Windows 7 64-bit illegal not activated runs at a resolution of 1280x800. Halo 2 Vista seems incapable of running at this resolution it only gives the option for 1280x720, 1024x768, and 800x600, which are all widescreen. I would really like to run it at the full screen resolution. Anyone who knows how to fix this please let me now. Thanks! PS: The windows i am running is illegal and has some glitches like randomly minimizing and this might part of the problem.
Hey guys, I am considering replacing all the music in the campaign. I ceebs changing the actual music in game, unless anyone with lots of time and patience wants to help me with that. But anyway, easiest way to do it is to screen capture the campaign without music. Problem: putting the music volume to 0 in the settings menu doesn't mute the music in cutscenes. For my idea to work properly I need to get rid of this. Anyone who knows how to do this and would like to tell me please do. I presume it involves deleting the .sound files. Anyway. I also need to screencapture the campaign. I suck at video games and halo, and i have tight parents who hate me playing games so its hard for me to play much. So, if anyone wants to do a walkthrough for me of the campaign that would be awesome. I would probably post it on youtube and would give the player full credits for the walkthrough. My email is oliver.iacono@gmail.com is anyone's interested. And anyone who knows how to fix the music problem as well. Thanks guys. Edited by keygenftw on Mar 17, 2011 at 04:12 AM
I downloaded the 'Halo 3 Style Campaign' of this website ( I think its by CMT ). Although all other versions I've found have had halo 2 and custom huds... yeh... not sure. If anyone wants to explain this to me, go ahead. But because it was so awesome, they should do halo 2 as well. Who agrees?
aaa... yeh. thats my problem. putting the music volume to 0 in settings/audio settings/music volume mutes the music in gameplay, but not in cutscenes. That is my problem.
esc menu?
Hey guys, recently decided to change the music of the halo 1 campaign (cmt). i can't be bothered putting the music actually in the game, its too much effort plus tool can't convert wav. files over 10 mb, which pretty much stuffs that idea right up. So, i've decided to just screen capture me playing the entire campaign without the music and add a a custom soundtrack later. Only problem is, even when setting the music volume to 0 in the settings menu, it stills plays in cutscenes. So I need a way to mute ALL the music in campaign but not sound effects. Is there some sort of devmode or console command? alternatively somehow deleting the music in guerilla, sapien, ir HEK+? And if i have some sort of epiphone, exact and extremely detailed instructions on how to convert music file to .sound and putting them in the campaign with looping points etc would be absolutely AMAZING. Thanks
