Underpass_npb1


Introduction: Underpass is a map that has been completed in two days but to a month to populate due to lazyness and other projects. The map takes place under the outskirts of New Mombasa. The UNSC sealed off both sides of the tunnel and lifted both bridges to prevent any covenant forces to enter through the roads.

Screenshots: Here are some screenshots in sapien but they look the same in game.

Cool, Oh and the npb stands for nexus-public-beta. Not non-public-beta, you could think of it as non-private-beta if you want too.

you put some nice textures on it. Though the map could be larger. The map is alot better then some that are uploaded. You did a nice job.

Thank you. I made it like this because I was looking at Longest and there werent that many maps similar to it. This map was actuall way smaller than it is. It was half the size.

use your skils to make like a medium sized map, we dont got enough of those.

i would love to see a medium sized sand level thats good. Like maybe with two ridges connected together but with a large underpass. God i wish i could snap my fingers and just make things happen.

teh ganon don't treat me like someone who just got here. I didn't get my 2000+ posts by spaming the boards. I have been here quite awhile you should realise that. I think by now i know how things work. I never said it was hard or did i suggest that i could not learn how to model better. I think you need to look at who the person is before you comment.

Having magical snaping fingers would be awesome.

^ hes said before that hes used to model and it wasnt that it was too hard, he just didnt enjoy it. and whats the point of doing it if you dont enjoy it.

and magic fingers would be great if you dont like to model, but you want to make a model. just poof and there it is.

Thank you. Well since this topic went into one discussing how hard modeling is this map wasnt hard at all. Basicall extruding and lifting faces. Not too complicated.

I do not really have goals for making halo models or maps, but i do go into gmax and just play around with it. It's not enjoyable for me to spend alot of time working on something. I however do sometimes like to play around with soft-selection and see if i can make something look like a map. After i mess with verticies i usually do auto smooth and get it so i can see how it looks better.

I like see good maps such as this one. Really to make a good model you just need an idea and time to spend making the idea. but to me the hardest part of getting an idea is deciding which textures to use. Thats a pain especially if you want to make your own textures lol.

Ya you do need an idea, when I started on that project I had longest inmind. Right now im working on another map. Its going to be like Chiron TL37, you know the map with all the teleporters? Basically its going to be close quarters.

Your a good modeler and i bet your next map will be nice. but make it like a small/medium map, something that can at least fit 12 people and still give them space. Maybe make it a map where you use duel SMG's. the kind of duel smg's that are one single item collection.

Chiron was a good map when played without nades, i had some success on a Halo PC server running that map without any nades at all.

I started modeling the spawn and a corner. Should be easy sinces I have to do half and then just mirror it after Im done.
