I have done many searches trying to find the answer but all that I have found has been unclear.
My current map has 21000+- faces total and I have done everything to eliminate as many faces as I could and still keep the basic layout I want. I have removed many buildings already, I did portal the map and the only scenery will be of debris with fewer than 200 faces each. I have kept the shaders down also to about 9 and that is as low as I can go. What issues with frame rate will be expected? The HEK says, ‘the following lists the suggested maximum amount of triangles that should be allowed to draw per scene.” Multiplayer Levels: 50,000 triangles. 30,000 are the recommended. Now, is a scene the whole map or each portal section of the map? I am also planning to keep radiosity at a lower quality to help with performance issues. Anything else that I should do?
Q- High face count and frame rate and what are the real issues?
Q- is a scene the whole map or a portal section of the map?
Q- any other recommendations I have not thought about?
Here is a screen shot.
