the past few days ive been working on the halo 3 assault rifle (NOT CMT'S) and its almost complete.... all that i need is a hud, and to animate it. Currently it works fine with the original halo 1 assault rifle animations but i want to redo them some.



this i worked really hard on and i hope they turn out alright.....

iv got your reticle and pick up icon covered. i would help with animations too but my fp anims usally suck

lol they're probably better than mine. but im just gonna redo the fire, melee, maybe reload, and the ready animation. Soon i'll make one with either a flamethrower, shotgun or a nade launcher slung underneath the gun.....

Sounds very cool. If your going to make a second one you should make it shoot a frag like CMT's BR.

yeah, i might make a bunch of them. And after this gun, my next project will be the spiker, then the Spartan Laser after that. I'm also working on a spike grenade, if no one is working on that already. I plan to put all these weapons in a halo 3 versions of my maps. BUT, im not entirely sure i'll release these tags. (Dont worry donut you'll get them :P)

Yeah, i know, thats why I'm torn. Whats worse is that when i ask ppl what i should do some say dont and some say do. We will see what happens. Good news is, i DO plan on releasing spiker tags.

looks fun, we need a h3 rifle that can be put into maps. Even if you don't release it having another one out there will be fantastic. Redoing the animations will be cool but even if you don't it's still awesome. I like having an assault rifle that can actually kill people.

yea no point, save the full model as the 3p and on the 1p delete part of the right side of the gun that way keeps poly count low and doesnt waste polys on unneeded parts

yeah, you could do that, but i dont think deleting the right side would help all that much right now, i might do that after i animate it and what not. Oh and Donut, i would like to have those tags when your done, cuz im gonna do h3 versions of my maps......


EDIT: if i do release, i might just pick the ppl i want to give it to, because i dont want noobs getting their hands on it and putting it in another bloodgulch ai mod.

thanx again, and i made some bumpmaps for it too, so it looks pretty good.

I fixed the display problem but the only thing left is the ammo meter, its all wacked out i got it to work some what but it doesn't correctly show how much ammo you have left, any help would be GREAT....

actually donut has made a reticle. So you know its the same one from H3. Also the spartan laser is coming along nicely, and its almost ingame...

Oh ya because I played the beta and the reticule wasnt tha t big but owell its HCE and thats a good AR. Does Donut know how to extract BSPs from the H3 beta maps? Because I have the 3 maps and the menu maps also.

yo m6deep, you want me to make it so instead of showing an arrow for which direction your facing, it says N, NW, W, SW, S, SE, E, NE ? ill make the bitmap then you just replace bitmap that you already have

I wouldn't praise just yet. M6dEEp's Spartan Laser skin has been proven to be Scooby's skin, just with only a few levels/saturation adjustments it seems. Dano has said that this is also his CMT AR skin.

i take back what i said, this is danos assualt rifle. heres a pic of the but of the gun







however i believe the model itself ( the final one that I have ) isnt the same as cmt's. i think he only took the skin

the tip of the second one looks longer to me. yes the skin does seem to be the same but i personally think based on those images that the models are slightly (very slightly) different.

I traced them both in gmax to get the shapes of the models and overlay them on another. I found some proof for myself and now i do agree they are the same model. well but still CMT your guys over all weapons are better i bet.

Maybe he did not like rip the model from your map, maybe he traced your model in max and made it that way. And for the textures he could have took sceen shots of your skin and got the skin that way.
Maybe he just copied you guys and did not Rip from your maps
